1. Texas 86-64-6, .571 winning percentage
2. Notre Dame 94-73-9, .560 winning percentage
3. Michigan 89-79-8, .534 winning percentage
4. USC 71-67-8, .514 winning percentage
5. Ohio State 67-69-5, .493 winning percentage
6. Oklahoma 95-109-10, .467 winning percentage
7. Alabama 17-22-2, .439 winning percentage
8. Nebraska 57-76-6, .432 winning percentage

Observations

1) Peak Texas and Notre Dame > All.

2) Notre Dame is the most dominant program in CFB history. They have a dominant head to head record over four different blue bloods (Alabama, USC, Oklahoma, Texas). Texas has a dominant head to head record over three different blue bloods AND only has a 2-9 lifetime record against Notre Dame.

3) Alabama has by far the fewest matchups against other blue bloods with 41. It's a little unfair though because a legitimate case can be made that their SEC rivals Tennessee and LSU are the 9th and 10th greatest programs of all-time.

4) Michigan has a surprisingly robust winning percentage against other elite programs. It's a little misleading though. Their record is inflated by having a 19-3-2 record against Ohio State through 1927. Since that time, Ohio State has a 45-39-4 head to head advantage against Michigan. But still they've done a nice job holding their own against other blue bloods and they're one of the few programs who actually has a winning record over Notre Dame.

What's with the Blue a bloods talk today? I've been to the MSB, Rant, and SEC boards all talking about College Football Blue Bloods

What I notice is the three way that OU, NU, and Texas have had for so long.

So many chances in conference. That includes all down years for any of the three... I would venture to say most of the others had to play other "blue bloods" in bowl games, where there is a guarantee that the other team is at least pretty good

I understand that Nebraska and Texas weren't in the same conference the whole time, but OU was the swing man in the three way

Notre Dame, OSU, and Michigan kind of have that same scenario

yeah because their rivals had black guys and they wouldn't play.

Easy to win a bunch of games against all-white dudes.

A ton of Bama's record is jim crow folderol.

Most people don't count anything Bama did until 1975 when they joined society and the SEC desegregated.

So you're not going to recognize how Alabama, in the toughest time to win in the history of CFB, is having the best run of all time?

And Bench, how is peak anything better than peak Alabama right now?

What blue blood did Texas rack up all of those Ws against? There really weren't any other blue bloods in the old SWC. Maybe Arkansas when Broyles was coach.
I guess I need to know the definition of blue blood.

I wish Alabama had more opportunities to play those programs.

I'm looking forward to the USCw game, but I do wish their program was in a little better shape than it currently is.
