Byrd alum I know says the appeal has a chance because they complied. Probably full of shite.
As an educator, I hate block scheduling in high school. Kids hate it. You can't keep kids engaged for 90 minutes. And it's manipulated for two reasons. Football players take PE/study skills/art/speech in the fall and Core Classes in spring. Or they put all the dummies in Math and English in the fall and make them repeat in the spring with no electives when they fail so they can say their kids are "on track" to graduate.

seems like a hard rule to break and expect to get away with it
lots if people involved in a football practice

This rule exposes another flaw with the CHSNI issue. They forfeited 4 wins for an ineligible player. But they still make the playoffs because all select teams make playoffs. Their punishment is a lower seed, but if they win game one on the road, they probably play at home to the Dome because they already had a road game. Or do they play all road games?

I was told CHNI won't make playoffs.
I know they have ND last game and presently have 3 wins.
Not sure they automatically qualify.

Did they stop running the Wing T? I know their OC went to Natchitoches Central and destroyed their offense with that crap.

But how will they teach if they go back? It would take them 40 minutes to get everyone settled down and ready to learn so they could only teach for 5 minutes.
I still remember that stupid rationalization for switching to block scheduling while I was in high school.

I remember being in a meeting with a school that was considering switching to block, and the admins were arguing that "our at risk students get to take English twice!" An angry teacher replied "well...then YOU try to teach an at-risk student ANYTHING for 90 minutes and we'll talk." It's great for science labs and crap for everything else.
I like the "modified 8." I know they do it at Dutchtown. Year-long classes. 8 periods 3 days and odd/even blocks on the other two for labs and assessments.
