The no conference format didn't work in the NFL it won't work here either

The NFL all-star game sucks. The NBA's all star game is really popular and this should make it more interesting.

It could be pretty fun if, say, Lebron has the first pick and takes KD, so he's on the opposite team as Steph.

Davis and Cousins on opposite teams.

Harden and CP3 on opposite teams.

Also team building strategy. Could be fun.

I hope they release the pick order, so we can see how all of the East guys go last.

I hope they pick the teams on All Star Saturday, before the dunk contest. In classic schoolyard fashion, with LeBron and KD just calling out everyone by name.

Also want to see them seed 16 playoff teams and do away with East vs West for the playoffs.

That would negate conferences altogether.

And how is this a bad thing? What is the point of having different conferences?

I would assume that initially this was due to travel restrictions/logistics, but with the way that NBA teams travel now, that's a moot point.

The league is so unbalanced that it doesn't make sense to have conferences at this point. You'd probably only have 5-6 teams make the playoffs in the East if you just took the best 16 teams in the league.

Nobody gives a crap about these 'all-star' games anymore and barely ever did to begin with.

Look around, MLB, NFL, they've all tried various gimmicks to drum up interest in these damn things, to no avail.

The all-star game concept is an antiquated gimmick. They started as a publicity stunt and people kinda like them because it was rare to see so many stars in one place.

Well we live in the era of 24/7 news channels, twitter, etc.

People see these stars 365 days a year. The novelty of these games holds no interest.

Besides, the competition in these games is terrible. There are no stakes and nobody cares or even tries.

I like it. NBA is a star driven league and their storyline is a big part of the drama.

I sure as hell hope the draft is televised. It is probably better TV than the game itself.

If you like watching basketball, it would be nice to see Draymond trying to guard Steph or Klay on the perimeter, or other teammates as well.

If the NBA plays their cards right, the draft itself could be more entertaining than the game. Schoolyard style picking of the teams on live TV would be good shite.
