Can somebody explain the Scott Van Pelt and Plácido Polanco thing?

Everytime I see SVP and Tim Kurkjian talk, SVP has a way of making Tim laugh by saying Plácido Polanco's name with, what seems to be, an English accent.

Started on his radio show.. They'd always do it at the end of the show. SVP would say a name that sounded like that, and Kurkjian gets the biggest kick out of it. Pretty funny, if you ask me.

I think he does like a Baltimore accent because of the way the pronounce their O's

If it is, he's doing a solid job. But even the funniest jokes, even one's that make you cry, eventually stop being as funny. But you know I've never seen him do it on TV. Maybe then we could tell it was fake.
edit: just saw the TV segment with SVP...I don't know..hard to tell if it's fake or not

that was one of the funniest segments ive seen in a while and i had no fricking clue what was going on
