i like my squad because we have at multi-positional defenders at every position.

dipo can guard both guards (big or small/quick) 1-3.
Brown and Thompson 1-3 and small ball 4s
Giannis 1-5
Davis 1-5

we re long, athletic and aggressive. everyone can switch. Dipo is the shortest at 6’3 with a 6’8 reach.

On offense, everyone can shoot dribble and pass. All five can shoot 3s. Giannis might be the worst shooter, but he gets any shot he wants. four out of five can handle the ball and three out of five have played some sort of distributor role.

Who is pushing AD and Giannis around? Dudes are men down there. And they’re long/springy enough to block shots even as they’re pushed.

and I talked to AD. He understands that this is the Space Jam starting 5 and he needs to do this for a tournament not a season.

At least I’m not trying to start a dude with a bum leg

it actually has. it has stopped him his whole career. Signed, a HUGE chris Paul fan.

The nba has evolved to where if you have a poor defensive player, teams just run at that player every player. Jokic would be a windmill.

Hell, even amazing players such as Deandre and Gobert get run off the court by small ball teams like GS and Houston.

That’s why the only starting defensive centers should be AD really. He is the only one who can guard the biggest of the big, while switching to run with the small balls.

Also why having a Giannis type who can approximate the same helps.

I was choosing between Klay and PG and went with klay bc vastly superior shooting. But similar concepts.

C - Capela $1
PF - Lebron $6
SF - Otto Porter $1
SG - Klay Thompson $3
PG - CP3 $4

It would be easy to take Lebron and Durant and surround with guys like Capela, Porter, PJ Tucker, Avery Bradley, etc. Anyone that plays D and can shoot 3s. I think CP3 plus Klay is better than Durant and a 1 dollar guy but I could go either way on that choice.

I also thought about Lebron at C but he’d complain and there wouldn’t be a real rim protector.

Also I’ll add I’m just bored on a Sunday and this is fun. Would love to have simulations run on this

He was gassed vs GS because the people he was playing were too smalll and quick and he was having to help on a team whipping the ball around, not bc they were too big and he was undersized to play C. Literally the best team in the league often uses Kevin Durant as its primary rim protector. Don’t tell me AD can’t play C.

My team is a squad of switchable athletic multiposition defenders.

And on O all have averaged plus plus assists for their position. come at me!

Beal is a solid two way player.
Bron to get everyone the ball.
Paul is a little duplicative if you have Bron.
Aminu is fine but not really an offensive threat.

So vs my team I’d be fine with AD on Drummond.
Jaylen/Dipo/Klay I’m happy to have take turns switching onto Paul after pick and rolls.
And having aminu means that I can put Giannis on Lebron, and use Aminu’s man to double the drive. But let’s face it Lebron is a problem.

on D, I don’t think Lebron gives effort every play any more, so Giannis gets his points. Drummond doesn’t have the lateral quickness to guard AD out the paint. All three of my wings can get shots over CP, or use motion to get open. All three have a ton of motor and our great off the dribble or catch and shoot.

I think the question is why didn’t you give Lebron another long shooter/defender instead of CP? I think you only need one.

on offense we run every play at curry. who can literally not guard anyone on my team.

Down low, AD and Giannis score anytime they want. And grab every rebound.
