Not saying it's the right choice, but on December 6 they were 6-6 and one game behind the Seahawks for the Wild Card.
Then they finished 6-10, triggered by 3 straight losses to the Saints, Rams, and Bears--all teams that had worse records than the Bucs when they played them. And then they finished the season with a horrendous performance against the Panthers, who already knew before halftime that they had HFA in the bag because the Cardinals were getting their shite kicked in.
On December 6, 9-7 was a reasonable scenario and they finished 6-10. That's bad news no matter who you are.

Coach Lovie was the truth!

I guess they were not happy with their defense. They were tough against the run sometimes but they weren't against the pass.
i think i read some where the Bucs director of player personnel was going to interview for the Titans GM position.

Not really. Possible but highly unlikely.

What the hell does Lovie have to do with shite coaches(or coaches that y'all think suck) around the league?
I don't know if this is 100% accurate but I've heard for a while that the Bucs really want to keep this OC with Winston and try to build something. If he's getting attention from other teams, and they value his offense with Winston over Lovie's defense, then what the hell is the problem here?
Y'all are acting like a white coach needs to be jailed each time a black coach is canned. Anyone who thinks this change involves race needs to punch themselves in the face.

This is a team that fired Dungy and Gruden. Has to be the least patient front office out there

Lovie Smith to saints for DC job.

With a QB and the offense figured out Lovie could have spent all offseason shoring up the D. Unless there's a slamdunk hire lined up, Bucs gonna Buc.

It's just a mind boggling move to fire a coach after year 2 with shown improvement.
IMO there is something else going on that we don't know about yet... Just sayin.. The Bucs were improved in many areas this year and Winston seems to have gotten better during the season...

First thought that entered my head.
However, to be fair, unless Lovie robbed a bank, this was a dumb fire.

Uh...what about them? They suck and should be fired? Ok. But what does that have to do with race? People are saying this is a race thing...

Yes but still... This is a pretty young team... there is no telling what they learned from the late season swoon... This is just a mystery to me....

If they fired him because they thought they had a shot to go to the playoffs and hit a bad stretch, then that front office is a bigger dumpster fire than I thought.
I hope it's because they wanted to give the job to the OC before he got hired away. Still messed up but I get it.

My point has nothing to do with race at all.
As a Cowboys fan, Jason Garrett needs to go. We won't win anything of significance with him at HC. However, he's Jerry's puppet, and because of that he's not going anywhere.
Jeff Fisher has probably missed the playoffs more times over the last decade than Tom Coughlin ( who has two SB's) and remains employed. The Rams suck, and aren't going anywhere anytime soon. How can Rams GM justify keeping him employed?
Bucs brass can do whatever they want with their football team /coaching staff. That doesn't mean we can't call them out for making a dumb decision, which this was.
