shite even with Stanton we would have made a run, it wasn't until we had to go to our 4th string QB when shite really fell apart.

Almost every team in the league is going to struggle with a 3rd or 4th string QB. Hell, most of them struggle when a back-up QB is in the game. Player development is obviously important, but you can't develop someone who doesn't have the talent. Ryan Lindley is never going to be a good QB in the NFL. Logan Thomas was a 5th or 6th round rookie. The fact that Arizona was even close in their last few games speaks to how good of a coach Arians is.

Kind of ironic. The aubie is defensive, yet his golden boy is a somewhat successful NFL QB. The aggie is making the case, and his golden boy has been an unmitigated disaster in the league (so far).

I was going to say every team in the league, but then I remembered that Colt McCoy was 3rd string, and he beat a Dallas team that made the playoffs so I changed it to almost every team.

I think this comment is missing the point.

The NE spread offense is a sophisticated passing offense that relies heavily on Brady being able to read defenses both pre-snap and post snap. The WRs run the entire route tree and protections are sophisticated.

The spread offenses in college aren't that way. The protections are simple. The pre-snap reads are much simpler. Read option teams are even further away from a sophistication standpoint in the passing game.

In other words, a QB who plays in a pro style passing offense in college will be more suited to play in a NE type spread offense. A spread QB in college is typically have much more development required to run that offense.
