They will waste it on Garrett because the it is the NFL and they love measurables over production.

I don't think the "measurables over production" label applies to MG. He was the projected #1 pick before the combine. He didn't show up in Indy and shoot up draft boards. His measurables solidified his place at the top of the draft.

I agree his production and film is concerning against quality opponents. At times he looks like a completely different player. However, he had 47 tackles for loss & 31 sacks in his career. That is a very productive player, especially since he battled injuries this past season and missed several games.

They need to keep loading up on other players and keep tanking to be able to pick Darnold in a couple of years.

These strategies are great because the guy you are tanking for seemingly always falls off the board by the time the next draft comes around

At one time everyone was supposed to be tanking for Christian Hackenberg and before that Javan Snead. Darnold doesn't have a full season of tape on him yet, maybe wait on anointing him

No franchise QB, trade down.

but it's the browns, so they won't.

They cant trade down. Garrett isnt worth trading up to #1 to any team in the league.

If I was them I take Jammal Adams. At number 1 I want a sure thing and he is as close as there is. Call it reach whatever but its not. You have 1 chance to take a top 5 player. I will take the best of the bunch and be able to trade back into first rd if I want QB or any other position.
