You can see it snap/tear loose. It's gross, you've been warned.

Not clicking that because I'm a pussy.

Is it worse than Willis McGahee's Fiesta Bowl injury? I still remember them showing that slo mo replay about 100 times

I saw this earlier on Twitter. Man, that's harsh. I can't imagine the pain.

Side question: What's up with Oakland's defense, bro? It hasn't looked so hot thus far. Granted, it is preseason, so it's easy to take it with a grain of salt.

Preseason, have yet to even have the full starters out there, last game no Reggie Nelson, no Edwards Jr, no Neiron Ball, and Karl Joseph is being brought along slowly from the ACL.

I'll get worried if they're all out there together and still struggling when it matters.

Yeah, the tension that is in your Achilles is what makes a tear so gruesome. It just snaps and shite just rolls right up in your calf. Incredibly painful.

The surgery is a pretty cool one to watch though. They just go right up in there, pull that bad boy back down, and sew it back together.

Steroids will do that. Too much weight added to the natural body the Achilles stays the same size.

I was about to call BS on your post but then I looked at his numbers. 5'8" and 208? That's a thick dude for that height. Damn.

Maurice Jones-Drew
Michael Dyer
Mike Tolbert
Trent Richardon
Mark Ingram

It's not uncommon to be that size, and even bigger...

It's probably far more likely that he's been receiving cortisone shots in his ankle due to tendonitis/inflammation and it weakened the tendon.

Sucks for that dude. That was tough to watch.

I had an online draft after that today and somebody snatched up Melvin Gordon in about the 5th round.

I thought the same. Obviously a terrible injury, but not a gruesome video. Will watch that 100x over Kevin Ware or Paul George.

Apparently this injury is far more painful for athletes and people in very good shape compared to say a middle aged man or woman just doing weekend activities. My good friend's dad tore his playing tennis and he was laughing, his leg just didn't work. My old roommate pole vaulter for LSU and one of the girl sprinters was warming up and tore hers and he said the scream she let out was terrifying. He could see it rolled up to the calf. That injury scares the shite outta me.

You have a dirty mouth for a southern Belle.

And I agree, tendon tears are hard to watch. I saw a guy tear a pec in the gym doing dumbbell bench press and his chest muscle rolled up into a tennis ball. Saw the same thing with a bicep tearing at the elbow joint. I will never forget those images.

The weirdest part is feeling the flabby skin where it used to be.
