I thought Gardner was the one thing Michigan had going for them.

They also have Jabrill Peppers, but he was out with an injury I think.

It's not that he would...nobody would.

it's that he did...even though he didn't think morris had a concussion.

morris showed signs of it on the field, how nobody noticed on that staff is deplorable.

Assuming he will be fired (which is a pretty good assumption), who will/should replace him?

I always did wonder about the headset situation with him.

I'm not cynical enough to think he'd intentionally risk a player's health, but the alternative -- that he's just incompetent -- is almost as bad.

Like several have, he's either lying or flat out incompetent, and neither are excusable.

ETA -- if he actually wore a headset, there's the outside chance that someone in the booth could have alerted him that Morris was staggering around like he'd just slammed a case of Schlitz and needed to come out to be given the concussion protocol test. Him not wearing a headset just further makes him look like a moron.

They seriously need to just fire him now and prepare a blank check for Harbaugh.

ust like that ND camera guy getting killed wasn't a story either?

It would be talked about but people wouldn't want Hoke fired for it. Did you hear people saying Brian Kelly should get fired for that incident?

No, but I dont see this negligence and incompetence as any better than had he done it on purpose.

That was one of the worst things I've seen in football.

While I do agree that some of the protection rules have gone too far, when a player is visibly wobbling on the field and needs someone to hold him up you get him off the field immediately and don't let him near the field until he undergone tests at a hospital/medical facility. It's not a matter of pride, concussions are very serious injuries that should be treated as such.

Hoke's excuses were hollow, no reason for the kid to play in that game. I have no problem with coaches getting players to tough it out for a small bang or bruise, but this was way beyond that.

To make it worse, the RB made a signal to the sideline that they needed trainers on the field.

Him after the hit being held up by the lineman:

He was out because he told a coach after making a sick play in practice "this is why you fricking play me"

That video was just absolutely painful to watch. Hoke's comments after and the discussion about his leg is awful.

If I were a Bama fan and Saban did this kind of thing, I'd want him at least strongly punished for it. This is a shitty coach. He should be gone.

Apparently, someone one on of the UM sites (Mgo Blog) linked this article of BH being reprimanded at Ball St. for Player safety

quote:

Michigan head coach Brady Hoke's recent controversy regarding the health of quarterback Shane Morris is not the first time he's come under fire for endangering player safety. As Ball State's coach in 2004, Hoke was reprimanded by his athletic director after a player was frostbitten during a "disciplinary workout in subzero temperatures," according to an Associated Press article at the time. Also reprimanded was Aaron Wellman, Michigan's current strength and conditioning coach. What Now at Michigan? Upcoming coaching search is perilous, necessary Bill Connelly Chris Jackson, a redshirt freshman wide receiver, suffered frostbite to "several fingers" during a 40-minute, 6 a.m. workout on January 31 of that year. Jackson and teammates carried a 25-pound sandbag up and down Scheumann Stadium, athletic director Bubba Cunningham told the AP. Associate professor of geography David Arnold told the AP the temperature at the start of the workout was -7 degrees Fahrenheit, with a wind chill of -12 degrees
