As Tigers manager.

The Detroit Tigers will not renew Brad Ausmus' contract after the 2017 season, ending the manager's four-year tenure with the franchise.
The Tigers entered Friday at 62-91 and will finish with their fewest wins in a season under Ausmus, who is 312-325 overall in Detroit.
"As we transition the ballclub in a new direction, I feel it's best we have a new approach and a fresh start with the manager position," general manager Al Avila said in a statement. "Brad has done an admirable job under, at times, difficult circumstances, especially this season, and we appreciate his professionalism and dedication to the Tigers the past four years.

At least he didn't get fired.

If I felt comfortable landing another job in the offseason, I wouldn't be too upset if I was Ausmus. The next 2-3 years are going to be pretty tough for Detroit.

It's amazing how coaches get the first brunt of the blame for an entire organization in sports. I'd say 80% of coach firings I've seen in my life time in the NBA, NFL and MLB there wasn't a single thing the coach could do to turn it around.
Meanwhile, sean Payton is infallible

And then there's Phil Jackson...

Watch the fricking Braves sign him

Going to be some rough years in Detroit on the diamond. I thought Ausmus made tremendous strides from year 1-2, but not a big jump in year 3. Ladies are going to be upset to see him go.

I think it'd be nice if the Astros hired him as an assistant coach. Would love to see him back in Houston

Stupid decision. No good manager is coming to the Tigers right now
