I could not find a thread so wondered if I was the only one watching this. Don't recognize the names but it is great to see boxing in network prime time. Something to watch between periods of the Wild game at least.

Would be awesome if this was the start of big time fights coming back to network TV. Have to think a Mayweather type fight would break the bank and make more $$ on a network than PPV.

going to pay per view and Showtime ruined boxing. You could watch serious championship fights on network tv. Boxing may have made more money but it cut off the good stuff from kids whose families didn't purchase fights or get certain cable channels. They made their money and now wonder why people have lost interest. They got too cute.

PBC is an al haymon production, same guy who people have been saying has been ruining boxing for years now.

however, I'm a fan of it, there's been some great pbc fights.

I think spence is gonna make easy work of algieri tonight.

Guy can't be all bad if he's bringing the sport back to the networks. Who won the last fight? I flipped over to the Wild game and missed the end.

My favorite team is Chicago. I follow the Wild because I live up here in Wild territory and they are always on.

Don't get me started on freaking Al Haymon. Dude is horrible for the sport.

I knew it was a matter of time before you came in here with your bias.

My bias? Please go do a little research on Haymon and come back here and try to tell me he's good for boxing. He's a smart businessman, I'll give him that, but the only people who will say anything nice about him are the misinformed fans or the fighters/analysts on his payroll. That is a fact. Haymon is trash.

There's a reason he was banned from HBO boxing in 2013. Just go do some reading.

He was banned from HBO because he actually wanted to pay his fighters what they were worth not the pennies HBO wanted to pay. And we all know HBO is in bed with Arum and Oscar. That's why HBO Sports is now a dying brand and they are firing everyone.

Ok so if you were an HBO executive, you would be perfectly happy with cutting your boxing budget by almost 25% just so you could have enough money in the pot to pay Andre Berto $1 million twice/year so he could fight trash from Mexico City like Freddy Hernandez? Are you f*cking kidding me?

Haymon paid Danny Garcia almost $1 million to fight a dude two weight classes BELOW him and WASN'T EVEN RANKED in his class. Are you f*cking kidding me?

Sure, if you are people like Andre Berto, Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, Keith Thurman, etc. it's great that you get paid a shite load of money to fight alcoholics, landscapers, construction workers, etc. But are you telling me that premium cable subscribers should be happy to see these supposedly elite fighters fighting trash time after time? Am I supposed to just ignore that fact and just be happy that they are getting paid? F*ck that, man, I'm a fan and I wanna see FIGHTS, not overpaid "elite" fighters fighting garbage over and over again.

Haymon brought that garbage to HBO and they kicked him out. Now you're seeing Showtime doing the same thing now....they keep broadcasting these Haymon specials where it's all Haymon A-sides vs. someone you've never heard of.

Can you imagine the New England Patriots playing Tulane, ULL, Amite High School, etc every week? That would be Al Haymon's vision if he were running an NFL team. He wouldn't dare let his Patriots play an actual NFL team.

Spence is a savage. Too many people avoiding him. I've never seen a guy damage the body like that. Those shots are killer.

Boxing was dying a syphilitic death and like any good escort (or hell any University wanting students) made it exclusive to increase mystery and demand.

"It must be special if I can never see these guys box unless I shell out $59.99" became the refrain.

Boxing didn't die because pay-per-view...it extended it's sad life for another decade.

And once an American stopped being Heavyweight champ...American turned the channel off as they could.

Only Latinos continued watching welterweights and lightweights in the 90's.

I don't have no time to argue with you right now dude. I think we are witnessing the future of boxing right now in the ring.
