Sounds like this kid Thurman is the real deal.
He's flawed but extremely powerful for a welterweight. Everyone is dodging him.

Floyd is the GOAT dodger. Anybody with real potential he will dodge them and fight them once they are finished like Sugar Shane, or once they are exposed like Cotto, make them fight a weight they aren't comfortable at or just plain avoid them like Margarito.

So we will never see him fight him. Figures.

Don't forget the myriad of excuses against PAC Man.

Floyd hasn't/won't fight Pacquiao because of Bob Arum. Floyd was promoted by Arum years ago and they had an ugly promotional breakup. Since then, Mayweather will not fight anyone promoted by Arum. As soon as Cotto became a free agent, the Mayweather fight happened. The Shane Mosley fight didn't happen until late because Shane was the one who dodged the Floyd fight.
Don't get me wrong, Floyd would have whipped Margarito and Paul Williams but he clearly dodged both fights. He's doing the same with Thurman right now. If he'd just fight everyone and wipe them out like he would then there would be no debate.
And btw, Floyd destroys Pacquiao whether it took place in 2009, 2011 or tomorrow evening.
The ONLY fighter over the last 5 years or so that I think would have truly given Mayweather all he could handle was Sergio Martinez. If that fight had taken place at 154 any time from 2009-2011 I think Sergio had a real shot at winning that fight.

Haven't been here for this thread, so this may already have been discussed. . . Kenny Bayless sucked arse. Fact. He was fricking terrible.

Yes he was and I was pretty surprised. He's usually the only referee that does a great job every time he's in there.

That said, I disagree re: Pacquiao. I think he had a chance in the past, and I think he has a chance now. I was beginning to doubt it, but the Bradley 2 fight re-convinced me. I also thought Cotto had a shot (wrong, obviously; but he gave him a good fight), and I convinced myself that Canelo had a chance too (dead wrong). With Cotto and Canelo, it was more wishful thinking. But I did and do believe that Pacquiao can beat Mayweather.

Looks like PBF trolled everybody again. Your score card was spot on with 2 judges. I'm glad I didn't waste my time with PPV or watching.

Amir Khan is over here running his mouth saying May is ducking him

Frick Amir Khan. Unfortunately, that will probably be one of Mayweather's last two fights. . .

The ref protected Floyd some in this fight
Protected him some? Every single time they got even close he closed in to break the fighters, sometimes before even one arm was being held, much less the full on clinch.
Bayless was over the top one-sided last night, FMJ is the biggest cry-baby I've ever seen, and I swear to God if FMJ doesn't bribe MM in to Powelocks, he is on his arse at the end of round 3 or 4. Floyd got the gumby legs in the middle rounds.

How many fights does he have left on the showtime deal? 2 or 3? They definitely will protect their investment while that contract is still in play

What a shitty fight.
I watched it for free and it wasn't worth the cost of admission. The concert to start the main event was terrible too.
When Mayweather said he got bit, I thought 'this is the death of boxing.' I think boxing took a big hit after Tyson/Holyfield, and the sport is already a bit wobbly. They don't need more mastication in the ring.

Every time Mayweather would pull down MM's head to put him in the headlock, he likes to palm the mouth and nose to keep the opponent from breathing. MM never bit his hand, the death of boxing is the fact that FMJ can cry about it and have the ref stop everything while he admonishes the opponent. It's a fn joke.

I think Manny would have knocked Floyd out withing 6 rounds last night? FMJ is literally on his last leg (he looked slower and his power is gone), hence the 'reach-around' style favors from referees (FMJ fights of late ref'd like Olympics) to pundits to his backers in Vegas, its getting really obvious now.
Actually, the moment I heard the judge's cards give Mickey Bey a lopsided win over Vasquez, I knew the 'Money Team' had their peeps in place. Sad, very sad sport, especially when Mayweather's promotion and fighters are involved.

He'll fight in May and September 2015.

He still has enough power to make fighters respect his punches. Those clean hooks definitely land with impact. But lets face it Floyd never really had KO power at 147.
I do agree on the speed though. He looked slow last night and he looked slow in May during the first fight with Maidana.
