Yeah I know it's ridiculous. I was just making fun of Fletcher and his "high up" source.

You guys are funny.

NBA 2k has Cousins at a 92, Irving a 90. Are they dumb? Are they biased?

Every goddamn player rankings I see has Boogie ahead. Irving is a very talented player, but he's not top 15 because he offers nothing outside of scoring. But you want to act like I'm being biased. You fall in love with the flashiness of Irving but can't bring a decent argument as to why he's better, why? Because there is none.

Boogie is in the 10-15 range. Irving is in the 15-20. Both very talented guys, but one brings more to the table than scoring, while also not believing the earth is flat.

Wanna bring an actual argument and substance or just laughing emojis like a jackass?

Irving would be jack shite without Lebron.

What does Irving do well besides score? He's an ISO guy. When that's not working he's useless. Again, NBA 2k has Boogie ahead, every analyst has him higher. But what do they know.

You don't watch near as much basketball as I do I can guarantee that.

I clearly called it absurd in the thread and said it would have to be that way if Cleveland really wanted to make a trade.

The Pels have centered the hype of their team since last seasons all-star break around a Cousins and Davis pairing. You can't suddenly 180 from that without some crazy haul to convinve Davis and Rondo it was the right move. Rondo supposedly only considered the Pels because of Cousins.

On top of that if Cleveland were to keep Lebron then the Cavs pick and swap would be worth very little. In essence you would be doing a trade somewhat similar but even moenone sided than what the Cavs and Boston trade did already. Cousins is a better player than all previously involved and I would say the Cavs may be the most desparate team looking past this season. Additionally you should take advantage of the desperate Cavs who will inevitably lose Lebron after this season with out some crazy turn of fortune.

Cousins:

PPG 27.0
RB 11.0
AST 4.6
STL 1.4
VORP 5.3
DWS 3.8
OWS 3.9
PER 25.8

Irving:

PPG: 25.2
RB 3.2
AST 5.8
STL 1.2
VORP 2.9
DWS 1.5
OWS 7.4
PER 23.0

Obviously Cousins would have the edge for Rebounds, but I added it to show how impressive his stat line is. What is funny to me is Boogie has more steals per game, and is damn near even as far as assists. He is one of, if not the best, passing big man in the game. Jokic and Gasol are obviously great as well.

There really is no argument for irving being a better player. He is, at best, the 5th best point guard in the NBA behind Curry, Westbrook, CP3 and Wall. He is in a tier with Lillard and Lowry, and you can make a strong case for both of those guys over Kyrie. Boogie on the other hand, is the best at his position. Now, I do agree that PG is a much more important position in today's NBA, but we are discussing who the better player is. You guys want to suck off Irving, yet games when Lebron is out, and Irving gets to be THE GUY, their record is abysmal. This is with Kyrie having Kevin Love as well. When Lebron is off the court and Kyrie is on they were outscored by 6+ points per 100 possessions.

and I'd also like to add that anyone saying "Boogie and AD is a bad pairing" is an idiot. We saw 20 games of those two together, with no practice time. Yet, the team had a better offense post trade. Even Calipari said they wouldn't be good right away. But to say they are a bad tandem is absolutely fricking stupid. Way too small of sample size. They will be a fantastic duo, it will depend on the rest of the squad playing well.

I'm right.

I have read very little of this thread but please stop acting like what rondo thinks, feels, or cares about, matters. He is not good anymore and was not a highly sought free agent. The Pels do not think about Rondo when making any roster move.

Small market team selling veteran free agent on a strategy and role will look really good when they go 180 on their sales pitch. They are expecting him to be a starter. While his opinion is not nearly as important as Davis's opinion, it would look extremely bad around the league to make a questionable deal after selling a different story to free agents all summer.

If they are potentially losing Lebron they are very desperate looking past this season. They didn't just trade Irving for no reason.

I'm so glad you posted this on the MSB. Had you posted this on Pels talk you would have 30 upvotes by now.

Unfortunately you're right and wrong. Rondo isn't good, but the Pels do think about him when making roster moves.

That's why they suck.

Well yeah because if I am trading away a superstar who my other superstar is friends with before the experiment even begins I am going to win the trade ridiculously. I ain't trading away Davis's friend for only potential slightly better situation. If you were to remove the Cavs picks from the deal I am thinking that structue is about the minimum to even entertain conversation.

I wish the Pels starting SF wasn't injured because I think they were definitely going to turn heads. I think they are still easily a playoff team though.

why would the Pels make the trade and potentially mess up the foundation they have been building since the all star break last season.
I'm not saying the Pels should make the trade in the OP. I'm saying the trade you mentioned is just as unlikely as the trade in the OP.

Because we all remember that time Boogie went toe to toe with the best team in the league and hit an absolute dagger to win a Championship.
A bit odd to attribute something to Kyrie over Cousins when the difference is Kyrie was drafted by the team near where Lebron calls home.

Because that's the only reason he's had those opportunities over Boogie.

To be fair, it's not just a lottery pick. It's potentially the #1 overall pick in the 2018 draft.

no, it's really not, and i'm getting tired of this shite getting pushed arouhnd like the nets are GOAT bad this year when they've improved to the point where ainge was willing to give upu this pick

you honestly fricking think danny asset aninge is going to give up a potential first overall fricking pick for kyrie fricking irving? when he already has an all star point guard? ainge read the tea leaves saw that pick was going to be a mid lotto pick and cashed in.

if this were mid season and the nets were by far the worst team in the NBA, i'd do it for boogie.

Correct.

They traded him because he's a little count who didn't want to feel like Lebron's son anymore.
