Maybe the AP will vote them in.

The national championship should go to the best team in the country, not to the team that played the toughest schedule. Just because you played a tougher svhedule (and that's very subjective anyway) doesn't mean you're the better team. Utah proved that to Bama last year.

But if Utah had to play Bama's schedule they would have been in a bowl game on Dec. 26th instead of the Sugar Bowl.

yes it is un-American in Obama's America...

but haven't you learned yet that life isn't always fair? but that's right we're all entitled to everything now

I think we should do away with all this national championship stuff... after all, somebody on a team that isn't named national champions probably has his feelings hurt and God forbid someone gets their feelings hurt

Beyond the BS you posted above it is a system that has been constructed to favor the payment of some public institutions over others. All public universities do not have the same opportunity for a payout due to the system being stacked against smaller conferences. It's a shady system.

You prove that they wouldn't first? They beat an Alabama team that didn't even bother to walk through the gates of the Superdome. You have to show up in every game in the SEC, yes even against Vandy and Kentucky. Tougher competition makes you a better team. NOT wiping through a bullshite schedule.

I thought Obama is on record wanting a NCAA Football Playoff System?

I'm just saying the kids and coaches representing a perfect record deserve a shot. The NCAA needs to fix this. And of course if you are in the NC game you don't care, you just want to win the game cause your team is there.

The NCAA doesn't need to fix shite. BSU's AD and HC are the one who needs to fix their schedule. They played a pansy-assed schedule that even Vandy could have gone 14-0.
Until shite teams such as TCU, Cincinnati, and BSU step up and play tougher OOC games, they will ALWAYS be on the oustide looking in.

Prove that the SEC was better. It didn't look like it head to head. Just because the perception is that the SEC is better, doesn't make it so. Most of the big 6 conference fans think their conference is the best.

Can we say without a doubt Utah wouldn't have beaten Florida last year in a title game? That's my point. And who suffers? The players and fans.

so you shouldnt have to earn your way in? your argument is getting worse. Even basketball playoffs have the RPI.

Well if they are sincere, they shouldn't worry about a "home-home" series. They need to prove themselves first.

That's BS. I BCS school shouldn't be afraid to play a poor little school in a home and home. Let's stack the deck against them even more by making them play every team on the road to get in.

LINK

Boise State athletic director Gene Bleymaier is all but begging for a major opponent – any major opponent – to play his Broncos, particularly in 2011. He can hardly get his calls returned. Not by the SEC. Not by the Big Ten. Not by anyone.

Bleymaier is making a nearly unheard of offer in college football scheduling – Boise will bring its popular, high-profile, top-10 team to any stadium in any town to play any big name team in America in 2011. And they don’t have to return the date in Idaho.

So far, no one has bit.

ESPN has even become involved trying to broker a deal that will almost assuredly be nationally televised. Still no luck.

So going undefeated isn't "earning your way in"?

Not only did Florida lose one game last year and got it, Utah also beat Bama worse than Florida beat Bama. It's your argument that's falling apart.

We have an open date to start the season but that would be scheduling suicide. Look at what we have the rest of the way.

Boise State wants ONE major opponent.

The rest of their schedule is teams that the SEC schedules during off weeks.

Let them play @UF, @LSU, @Bama and @Ole Miss this year and tell me they'd be undefeated.

There's no fricking way in hell. They might be a top 20 team, but with that schedule (our schedule in 2009) its likely they'd be at best 9-4.

The OP is right. Boise really do deserve a shot at the NC. That shot should be in a 8 team playoff and not the current system.

Exactly, I think the issue will not be solved by Boise scheduling one good opponent a season.

They need to play a entire season of decent/mediocre teams plus the occasional big game. They cant play a VaTech or Oregon and then turn around a play a season full of New Mexico States and expect to get respect.

I think they can play with any team for one game a season. The question is can the beat a good team after a entire season in an actual conference.
