It's so un-American for any team to finish undefeated and not be able to compete for being the National Champion of College Football. Congrats to Boise State and the class they show for accepting no shot at a National Title. I wonder if Peterson will ever leave to a big conference school?

Even their own tight end said they weren't the number one team in America. The only way a play off will really produce a true champion is they would have to reorganize all the conferences to keep one team from getting in with a weak schedule. That's not going to happen.

At some point the NCAA and BCS committee will have to recognize BSU if they keep winning...but this year...no they don't...they did nothing to prove they were better than the number 1 or number 2 ranked team...sometimes this is just the way the cookie crumbles...trust me, as an Auburn fan I know...

Boise State, TCU, Cincinnati, Auburn. These teams make nice stories, but can't compete with the elite.

The AP should crown BS as their NC.

What so they can play against an SEC, Big 12, Big 10 or Pac-10 champion and get wiped off the floor?

No.

I actually respect Boise's program. Honestly, though, they do not deserve a shot at the title this year, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Bama fan. Their schedule simply does not justify them having a chance after all that Texas and Bama have had to go through.

If Bama wins this Thursday, that will be 4 victories over top-10 teams, with 2 of those being top-2 teams.

Boise's lone victory over Oregon during the regular season does not justify a shot at the crystal ball.

The REAL travesty is the fact that no one will play Boise, even at home. Hopefullu the Pac-10 will expand and take them in, and then they can have a fair shake.

As far as national titles go, no they don't.

Boise is being recognized with BCS bowl bids. That's enough.

I agree with this. Boise St either needs to join the Mountain West or the Pac 10 before they can be given a shot to play for the nc

bullshite. You can't play that schedule and be considered for the national championship. Even if Alabama and Texas both had 1 loss they shouldn't be considered.

Why would they? Its a lose lose situation. if you beat them, its "big whoop, you beat Boise"...but if you lose it's "OMFG, YOU LOST TO FRIGGIN' BOISE?!?!?!"....

Ask me how I know...*coughUTAHcough*

In 2007 there were 6 teams with records as good or better than LSU. Based on the logic in this thread all 7 should have shared the NC.
