Ring #4 came against a shitty Orlando team that only had Dwight Howard.

You're gonna use this argument??

Then Jordan earned ZERO rings again. He never faced a team with a true "big man" in the finals AND the best team the Bulls beat (91 Lakers) only lost bc Worthy was injured - oh yeah and Kareem was retired - oh yeah and Pippen guarded Magic.

Poll time:

Who is the best player on the Lakers team assuming this does hold up?

a.) Kobe
b.) Howard
c.) Nash

Well it depends on how much Nash or Kobe age next season. But based off last year, I'll go with:

1) Kobe; 2) Dwight; 3) Nash

Duhon > Howard. That's who the trade was really for.

I've got it:

1.)Howard
2.)Kobe
3.)Nash

ETA: After looking at a few things I've got Kobe ahead of, not tied with Nash.

Can only assume Houston didnt actually offer that.

You would think so, but that may not be the case.

Maybe Orlando really wants a top pick and thought the Houston deal would make them too good to have a shot at #1?

Or maybe the Lakers said if the league wants to keep revenue sharing its new $150 million per year TV deal then they need to make sure the Lakers have a post Kobe future and in exchange for playing along the Magic will be bad enough to "win" the lottery.

God I hate this. frick the Magic for making this a possibility.

Now Dwight will be rewarded for all of his bitching and moaning with a championship and Kobe will win ring number 6 which adds fuel to the fire of what is essentially the dumbest debate of all motherfricking time.

Son of a bitch.

Can confirm the trade sending Dwight Howard to the Lakers has been approved by the NBA.

In addition to details already reported, the Lakers also send Josh McRoberts to the Magic as part of the four-team trade, sources say.

Draft picks going to Orlando: '14 first and '14 second from Denver; conditional future first and conditional 2015 second from Lakers ...

(cont.) and Magic also get a first from Philly that is lottery-protected in '13-'14, top-11 protected in '15, top-8 protected in '16 ...

(cont.) If the Magic don't get Philly's first by 2016, it becomes two second-round picks, as previously reported.

Going 0-82 isn't a guarentee. See Bobcats. Every decade I get excited as the Laker stars get older knowing their time will soon be over but then some dumb GM gift wraps them a star-player.

Houston's final offer was $12 million in immediate cap space instead of Arron Afflalo and Al Harrington, several of their recent first round selections, along with future lottery and unprotected draft picks.

Even with Howard, those picks would still probablly be lottery unlike what they will get.

Lakers also just signed Jodie Meeks to a 2 year $3M deal.

Nash/Blake/Duhon
Kobe/Meeks
MWP/Ebanks
Pau/Jamison
Howard/Hill

Mitch honestly couldn't have had a better off season.
