I don't frequent the websites I like for political banter and opinion. It's why I stay away from the cesspool that is the poli board.
The poli board is more of a circlejerk than banter or opinion

I've started to listen to a few of the new podcast on his site. So far so good.
The one's that Bryan Curtis have done were great. Sort of like a sports history pod. The Michael Rappaport ones were also great.

He has a cult like following.

The move to cover politics and tech will not work as well. Simmons' frat boy demographic will not want to read think pieces by the former Obama speechwriter
Disagree.
I'm pretty conservative, and I like their Keeping it 1600 podcast. They clearly lean way left, but they're very knowledgeable and funny. I don't take politics overly seriously so they make the discussions lighthearted and similar to the sort of banter I'd have with a friend.
That's the feel I like from BS's podcasts. It feels like a conversation you're sitting in on. They've kept that feel in all their podcasts. I'm really excited to see the Ringer website. They hired a helluva lot of super talented people.

He definitely has a following, but cult-like or not it's a well-deserved one. I'm excited about the potential of his content on a network like HBO who is starting to have some drop off in their typical Sunday night content and will have some big openings for primetime viewing.
ETA: If he starts producing something that mirrors the 30 for 30s on HBO, ESPN might be fricked in that regard.

True but it's always been circlejerk of whatever the right's talking points of the week are.
It's unreadable now because everyone is a cuck.

I don't like the fact that he hired the tool bag Favreau that used to be Obamas speech writer. I also don't like how this guy gargles on Obamas balls every chance he gets.

I'm sure he is, but as a consumer I don't want to read his opinion.

I heard the Pod with Favreau, he sounds like a really smart cat. The topic was a little off for me, but he sounded like a really smart guy.
Read these things you've said and try and analyze them from an objective place.
1) You think he is a really smart guy.
2) You think he is a "tool bag"
3) The previously mentioned assesment is based solely on the fact that he has a different opinion on a particular subject than you.
4) You fall into the category of people who dont even want to consider, read, or acknowledge an opposing point of view.
5) You use terms like "gargles his balls"
Hey man, I'm not going to make a character judgement about you based on the above facts. I will leave that to you.

Yes and no. They are now just bantering on which hand they should use to circlejerk with. Its like we all agree on this thing. But now lets argue about how specifically we agree with it.

The poli board reminds me of when you accidentally hit the AM button on your radio. It's nothing but people randomly yelling at one another. While not making a single point.

I've cooled a bit on Bill because of his hatred of Donald Trump (was his #1 fanboi on TD), but I'm happy to see his new site go live.

I agree 100% that Joe Buck is underrated. He's not perfect, but he's the best outside of the GOAT Al Michaels. He has gravitas, mates. Gravitas.

Sorry that your candidates lost, mate. Better luck in 2020.

Having actually seen the site now, the layout is horrible. It is SI-level bad web design.

Not everyone is a political cleat chaser, Alejandro.

Crap. He has Katie Baker doing hockey coverage again. Down Goes Brown is too busy writing for everybody else to come back to the Simmons fold.
The "surprise album" article was pretty good. So there could be good pop culture coverage. But the design does seem very late 90s.

Did he have a 3 year old design the site? It turrible.

Jon Favreau sucks - I hate how in the tank Simmons Inc. is for Hillary Clinton. Why do liberals NEVER want to hear or consider the other side? Bill Maher is literally the only one.
