Romo was born and raised in Connecticut in the early 80's.

I doubt he thinks that word has the same connotations that Southerners have. Certain words are only racist in certain parts due to history.

You're either really young or just didn't follow football. Romo was a bad arse LB in the day.........and was good in the remake version of Longest Yard.

Was a vital part of the Denver Broncos defense in those back to back Super Bowl wins 98-99.

I think boy is used here to describe someone who was acting like a child in this case. He sounds like a POS but don't think someone who is an ex-NFL player would take to Twitter to spew racist comments. I don't know though I'm a millennial and don't buy into the whole everyone's racist BS. Race relations seemed fine to me before Obama got in office and constantly stirred shite up.

Agree with all of this

My grandmother used to call me and my cousins little Poarch monkeys. We never thought twice about it and I've heard people say that's racist. I am part Poarch Creek Indian so maybe that matters.

No one that knows anything about twitter can say they have any clue whats its like to called "boy" in the context that it was originally used. I have been called boy just as much if not more than anyone else out there. It was racist 60 years ago.

I work with an old 62 year old redneck who refers to everybody younger than him as a boy. It's not a racist thing today. This isn't Mississippi Burning or Roots. It's 2016. Nobody uses that word like that anymore.

It's not racist. He acted like a boy during and after the game.

he should have said kid instead

Cam acts like a big kid out there.. and when things didn't go his way you got to see the immaturity side along with it.

Everything about that interview was bullshite. Take the fricking hoodie off your head and be a man. Sit up and look people in the eyes. I understand being disappointed, but damn!

No, he really shouldn't have. He shouldn't have to account for hypersensitivity to perceived racism in everything he says.

Stop with the hypersensitive non-sense.

Maybe Romo could turn Cam onto the elaborate PED protocols that he exploited during his NFL tenure
