I think Klinsmann said that this summer and thought it was brilliant. It's funny because the MLS overpays for washed up stars too. In Europe, those players end up on the bench for AC Milan or something.

I'm scared to think about what football will look like in 20 years given the knowledge of the danger of concussions and the lawsuits stemming from that. It might be an unrecognizable game.

And he could not be more WRONG.
Kobe's jersey sales and ability to put asses in seats is well worth the $50MM.
I mean, for putting a shitty product on the court, the Lakers still led the NBA in revenue for the 2013/14 with $293MM. If you don't think Kobe had anything to do with that, then you are retarded.

Double edged sword, I guess. Kobe may sell tickets but his massive contract has also crippled the Lakers for the next few years and is a big reason they blow so much right now.

Idk why this example popped into my head first, but Belichick torched the shite out of that clown Freddie Mitchell after the Pats-Eagles Super Bowl. Basically called him terrible and that he was glad when he was on the field. Thought it was funny because I can't recall Bill ever shitting on another player like that.

Mitch and the Buss' have crippled the Lakers, not Kobe...or his contract.
You have to go back to the 11/12 season to find them relevant. They have made some crap deals, and coaching hires.
