I am real.

You are the one in delusion that doesn't recognize how half the time the support for sports you don't care about dwarf baseball.

Look at the crowds - same as crowds for baseball...sometimes more.

Pro major sports does not equal college "major" sports!

You can find more fans in Nebraska or Penn State watching women's volleyball than fans at Alex Box.

Well then you don't watch baseball or other sports in the midwest.

Look at Roseblatt - sparse empty crowds.

Look at Nebraska women's winning the volleyball title - packed stadium.

There's a tiny small section of the country that fools themselves into thinking that baseball is a major sport...when in reality...its only major to them...while wrestling is to the midwest or water polo and track and field in the West and Northwest.

Texas A&M hasn't won a major men's title since 1939, the start of World War II.

Let that sink in for a minute...

The collective revenue of the 15 highest-grossing football programs in the United States was more than $1 billion.

In 2012, Business Insider reported that the University of Texas' football program generated more than $95 million the previous season

The top 15 college basketball programs generated roughly $293 million.

Football and basketball programs, the major money makers in college sports, reaped a combined median profit of $3.6 million for the average school in 2012, largely from conferences signing lucrative television deals that ensure even mediocre teams are paid handsomely.

UVA baseball during their championship season last year... "one of the top draws of its domain, ranking 11th in attendance this season with an average per-game draw of 3,642."

That's nothing.

In 2011, the University of Arizona's baseball team generated about $69,000 in ticket sales.

In fact, baseball programs dig a deeper financial hole than any other college sport, according to the NCAA.

In 2012, the median deficit for a baseball team was $675,000, with swim teams following close behind at $555,000 and ice hockey at $530,000.

I've been watching the CWS since Wichita State won it.

But it's a niche college sport like all college sports not called football and basketball.

Point being, there are only two major sports in college.

Rosenblatt probably has small crowds because it was torn down years ago.

We are talking men's majors

I'm not sure track or Women's basketball would be in there.

But if you want to count then sure.

And you are watching it and all the games that led up to it on ESPN. Not the sec network, or the big 10 network or any other network that's a special channel.

College baseball may not pull the crowds, but it's not delegated to a substandard channel like wrestling and swimming

Not really. It losses money and is an obligation as a package.

Look every region in the country will have their niche sport that they love and then think it's a major sport.

But midwest isn't the same as the South and the West isn't the same as the Midwest.

They all have their niche sports. And because certain areas of the country don't excel at certain sports they don't think its big.

Baseball has the same niche sports numbers as Olympic sports by and large...and while they may time and again eclipse - they are so far away from football and basketball it's not even funny.

Baseball is a major pro sport. But a collegiate West Coast and South sport.

And a semi-major college sport in the South and West. But a distant distant distant semi-major.

Deal is, it's a major sport in Pro America but just another Olympic sport in college athletics.

The numbers prove it. Same as water polo and track and field on the West Coast or wrestling and indoor volleyball in the Mid-West.

Your post was terrible, no offense.

Look at the numbers.

You spout nothing but opinion and "I love baseball."

But college?

Look at the financial losses and numbers.

Olympic sports are not losing out to baseball.

You provided nothing.

I provided facts.

Baseball is losing to some Olympic sports in being a liability.

This romantic idea that college baseball is huge and popular because it is as a Pro sport is totally and completely false and driven by total homers.

It is not remotely a major sport in college.

Football, Basketball...end of story.

The point of the thread was major.

Baseball is on the same footing of popular Olympic sports in other regions of the country where it is very popular.
