The West is pretty laughable...I mean Nebraska a top 10 team at one point? Has anyone watched them play? I guarantee you the majority of their fans understand the beat dow they took yesterday...but when you have Maryland, Purdue, Illinois, well you get the picture.

I mean Minnesota probably should have won 9 games this year and their schedule cannot be top 50-60.

You don't get the big boys (i.e. Iowa las year) then you get exposed when you actually play a team with some play makers.

Then the SEC and the ACC need to do the same thing.

It happens

frick yes the ACC needs to do it.

How do you think UNC gets ranked every year and wormed their way into the ACCCG last year?

Louisville, Florida State, and Clemson are in one division.

Watch for them to make a run in 2018 when they avoid all 3

eta: They seriously might go undefeated in 2018. Its a cakewalk schedule with the only road game vs an ACC opponent worth a shite being Miami. Such a tough place to play.

SEC East and West need to do the same then. Every year is different.

The ACC was incredibly well balanced this year IMO.

It's more balanced now than when it was Legends and Leaders. There's nothing wrong with East-West.

Big 10 Needs to Switch Up Divisions by pelicansfan123 I was thinking that maybe the Big 10 can do what the SEC does and have an every-year opponent in the other division. That way, teams like Michigan-Ohio State and Indiana-Purdue, and Illinois-Northwestern, could still play every year, with a North-South Division split looking like: North: Michigan Michigan State Rutgers Wisconsin Northwestern Purdue Minnesota South: Ohio State Penn State Maryland Iowa Illinois Indiana Nebraska Would these divisions not look a lot more even than what the Big 10 has now?

I like this.

Actually I just looked and the ACC Coastal division has a winning record over the Atlantic division in the four years since the conference expanded. The ACC is very balanced.

It's ridiculous to have Michigan State, Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State all in the Eastern Division, while the Western Division consists of Wisconsin, Iowa, and then a bunch of mediocre teams.

blame Nebraska... their underperforming the last decade prompted this thread

If we're really going to tinker, how about dividing the conference by B1G membership admission?

Charter Division: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern, Purdue, Wisconsin
New Division: Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers

If ACC did the same:
Old Division: Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia, Wake Forest
New Division: Boston College, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia Tech

The B1G West has a winning record over the B1G East this year. 11-10

Wait. Are you really arguing the West is a tougher division?

I'm arguing that the West has a winning record over the east, rendering all this "imbalance" talk moot.
