Ray destroyed my Titans enough for me to say he's the better of the 2 players.

Ray Lewis is better because he made a nice tackle when he was left unblocked?

Ray Lewis. Many here seem to forgot just the athlete Ray was back in his prime, not just when he and Willis were on the field at the same time. One was the heart of the best defense (you could argue 2nd to the bears) in NFL and has 2 rings.

He was absolute garbage when they won the second ring. That's like giving Mark Madsen credit for Lakers rings.

If you look at the 4 best season of each guy, AKA their prime, they are almost identical

If you are looking at one year, Ray Lewis. The year they won their first SB, he was the best player in the league by a pretty large margin. They beat some really good teams during the playoffs, with pretty much no offense.

Willis had an incredibly impressive run of about 5 years that was better than Lewis' best 5 years or so.

Easily Lewis
Easily? Here are Willis' best seasons:

172 tackles 4 sacks
141 tackles 6 sacks
152 tackles 6 sacks

There is no linebacker who is "easily" better than that

Ray Lewis without a doubt was a better LBer who led one of the best defenses in NFL History. Lewis' leadership skills also led his teams to 2 rings.

A better comparison of LBers would be Willis vs Urlacher.

I just remember Ray Lewis just about single handedly beating the Titans in Nashville the year they were the #1 seed. It was the year after the one-yard short SB and the Titans were stout as hell. Eddie George let Ray Lewis wreck shop on him, got in his head.

Willis is a freak athletically. I remember him running down a fully healthy Darren Mcfadden and thinking there's no way this guy isn't a top 5 nfl pick right now. I have no idea how 10 teams passed on him.

Those two had some awesome battles over the years. In the game you're talking about, Lewis had that incredible pick six to seal the deal when McNair threw a pass to George in the flat and Lewis just ripped the ball away from him and took it 50 yards for a TD.

Ray scared other players. As a Nashviller, he can eat stale d#%kloaf, but he was the real deal.

Really? Speed doesn't matter a ILB? At all? In no game situations?
Speed matters if it translates into results on the football field.

I think his point was that when comparing who is a better football player, results are all that matters.
