I'm not joking but Giannis has the potential to be a LBJ/KD clone in hybrid style, skills, and talent.

lets pump the brakes a tad, man

The kid should be good, but lets see him average more than 7ppg on better than 42% shooting before we proclaim him as the next all-time great. Both KD and Lebron came in the league as 19 year olds and were averaging 20 from the start

You know this has been a horrific draft class if MCW wins ROY going away.

What the f sort of deer antler spray did this cat take in the offseason? I watched him play for years at Duke and he never did the kind of shite he is doing since making it to the NBA. He looks like he could have a nice career as a poor man's Tyson Chandler. Dude is looking awesome on defense and on the pick and roll.

His game is built more for the NBA than college (ie his athleticism will really stand out). Four years of solid coaching didn't hurt. He'll never have a diverse offensive game, but he can pass, crash the boards, block shots, run the floor, and slam home anything in sight.

yeah Mason doing well hasn't surprised me. he's in a great situation with having vets to learn from. Miles has caught on too, I don't think many saw that coming. I thought he was a waste of a 1st round pick, he looked to be more mid-late 2nd or UFA.

what's the deal with the younger bro?

Well he was pretty bad initially, but has come along recently. He's athletic and has size obviously, and showed a penchant for shot blocking and came up with some big rebounds. He still has two years left. Considering how much Mason and Miles improved, and are still improving, it's not crazy to think that he could catch on in the league in 2-3 years.

All three of them are extremely athletic, have good size, and terrific motors. They run the floor like deer. That comes in handy in the league.

Its not just a few people on here saying that about Giannis.... NBA analysts and FO people say that too. The articles ive read say "in a perfect developmental arc, Giannis will land ahead of Paul George and just behind KD". Meaning if he can develop all that talent and potential, he can be almost as good as KD. Said he can average 20ppg at an efficient rate, 8rebs, 7 assists, (walking triple double type player) and be on the all defensive team. Thats the type of talent this kid has, along with the size and wingspan and freak athletic ability. Will he get there? Thats the question. I have no doubt he can develop and be just as good as a Batum type player.

And hes just 19years old and made the biggest leap in terms of competition. Went from a Greek D2 league team to the NBA. And is just getting used to life in America and having $$$. To see where he came from and where he is now, read this article: LINK And even if you dont care, still should read it. Awesome article that makes everyone root for Giannis.

And yes Mason Plumlee is a freak. Was not expecting him to be like this. Always thought he had great size and strength, but had no idea he was this athletic.

he's talented but he doesnt have the skill set of either of those guys. They were all time greats the minute they stepped on the court.

Dude you know what they meant by that. He has the talent, athletic ability, size, etc. to be that good. I dont think you have the ability, skills, etc to be the President of Azerbaijan

Watch Giannis' highlights. He is very similar to LeBron and KD. I could be overhyping and I realize that, but I feel that he has their talent and ceiling. Remember he came from a lower league in Greece while KD and LBJ were groomed in the US from AAU to elite US institutions. If Giannis was as fortunate to be borned in US I have no doubt he would be just as good as those two were during the same age. When I hype him up I am also taking his upbringing and the fact he could not develop in US into consideration.

The dude needs to go to LA if Mil can't have quality teams consistently. He will be the best player in the league when KD declines.

Easy there bud. And I agree Giannis has all the tools to become a great player and 1 of the best in the league. However, he needs to show a lot of improvement for next year before I can say he will be the best player in the league when KD declines. And KD has the type of game where he can play at high level a very long time.

Plus, theres somebody in the league named Anthony Davis, who just turned 21 years old a few weeks ago, and is already head and shoulders above Giannis, with just as much potential and talent.

And what does everyone think about Hardaway Jr?? Van Gundy thinks he should be mentioned in the ROY conversation.

MCW but he needs to learn how to lead his team on and off court real quick to remain a great player. They will lose 4 starters from their first day starting 5 by next season.

You act like that is a bad thing. Noel & Thad Young will be the leaders of that team going forward IMO.

Thad will be traded before draft. And if not he will leave on option in 2015.
