Didn’t Terry Bradshaw own the state javelin record for a really long time?

Lawrence Nixon of Jennings. All-state in football and basketball. Unfortunately, never made it college after running afoul of the law.

Robert Lane from Neville. Unfortunate for him I think he picked the wrong sport.

Not as much the wrong sport, the wrong school?

Todd Kinchen lettered in 5 sports at Trafton….football, basketball, baseball, track and tennis.

Got a scholarship to play point guard in Basketball, Alabama wanted him in Basketball bad.

His brother isn’t too bad. I remember him playing golf while in the NFL, great players.

He did, but another guy named Eugene Maurice Orowitz.
Eugene was an excellent javelin thrower, with his 193 ft 4 in (58.93 m) toss in 1954 being the longest throw by a high schooler in the United States that year. This earned him an athletic scholarship to the University of Southern California. An arm injury ended his time in college, the kid ended up doing ok after that.
You might remember his stage name, Michael Landon, Little Joe.

He held a state record in the hundred yard dash at 9.6 seconds, and the shotput state record at 56 feet plus was Mr. everything in football and a fantastic basketball player. Yeah Billy Cannon was really good at sports.

Not saying he was the best, but worth mentioning:

Brandon Stokely.
Went to Comeaux High School. He was a senior when I was a freshman. The era of Kevin Faulk, Mark Roman, etc.
All 3-5A District in 3 sports Football, Basketball and Baseball.
Ripped it up at USL, and won 2 Superbowls.

Was also a very cool guy.

It’s Josh Booty and it’s not even close

Lots of great multi sport high school athletes but he made it to the highest levels of both AND has the amateur awards to back it up.
