Best coaching job by a Super Bowl winning coach

1. Don Shula (1): 17-0. Enough said.
2. Tom Coughlin (1): Won 3 in a row on the road, including the NFCCG vs. Favre, and then beat the 18-0 Patriots. With Eli Manning at QB. Defensive gameplan gave Brady fits.
3. Weeb Eubank: That team didn't have a prayer of winning according to all the experts, and they dominated the game on both sides of the ball from the opening whistle.
4. Tom Flores (1): The 1980 Raiders were waaaaayyyyy over the hill, and they won it all from the wild card with never was (at the time) Jim Plunkett at QB taking over halfway through the year.
5. Mike Shanahan (1): You have to have been around back then to know how big an upset that was. Elway was the biggest Super Bowl choker this side of the Bills, the NFC hadn't lost in like a decade, and the Packers were the defending champs. He had a lot of history and momentum to overcome.
Others worth mentioning: Belichick (1), Payton (ambush), Parcells (2), Stram

Yeah, but the Broncos were stacked on both sides of the ball. I can't think of a weakness they had. All Pros everywhere. They were at least as talented as Green Bay. The NFC streak and Elway losing Super Bowls a decade earlier against vastly superior teams are meaningless.

Hank Stram. 65 Toss Power Trap.

Add Mike McCarthy 2010 to the list when he won the Super Bowl with half his 53 man roster on Injured Reserve. Also, Bill Belichick should get a mention for the year he won the Super Bowl with Troy Brown as his nickel CB.

I agree with that in retrospect. Now that they won and with perspective we appreciate what they had and realize it wasn't a fluke win. The Broncos were even better the year before and lost in the divisional round at home to the Jaguars. I remember watching that game in disbelief. Most people I watched it with really didn't think they were going to actually win it until the 3rd quarter.

Lulz at not including Bill Belichick in 2001 taking a team with a backup QB to the SB and beating the greatest show on turf.

I remember that Jags game. Broncos were known to be chokers back then. '98 had a different feel. Killed the Jags at home to make up for the previous year and beat No. 2 KC and No. 1 Pitt on the road. It was the opposite of the previous year.

It's 6 if not on the list. Don't act like it's not in the discussion.

Yeah but he also got Eli'd twice.

Tom Coughlin
Coughlin might be the most inconsistent coach ever. He sucks until his job is on the line.
