AD McCaw and Art Briles should be sent packing as well. In fact I'd clean house (and Mulkey can go on back to Louisiana Tech), then let the NCAA put the whole program on probation and allow athletes to transfer without penalty (not that some of them should ever be in athletics again given their lack of personal moral conduct).

NOTE: Chip Brown's ability to wrongly forecast things is legendary (he swore up and down A&M would NEVER be in the SEC). If he buys a stock you should sell it short.

The same coach that had a dude playing on the women's team? And STILL couldn't get but one national title in four years? (OK, I'll discount year one since Odyssey Sims wasn't leading the squad)

Not sure if sarcasm, but yes. He has been president of the university for 6 years. Before that he worked at Pepperdine (i believe for their law school).

I'm from Ohio. I don't follow small-time southern university presidencies.

I really thought you were being sarcastic. His name was discussed a lot during conference realignment.

I'm guessing he concentrated on academics and fundraising and let the athletic department run itself. Fatal mistake.

Just thinking about it now, i don't think I could name one university president aside from Ohio State.

I know UVA has a woman, but I can't recall her name.

Starr doesn't coach football, so I guess he's the one that has to go.

Well, let's preserve the football team and fire the president. What else is new?

It's not just a football issue. It's a systematic institutional issue. It wasn't limited to the football team, although they certainly have their TPOS. Ultimately, the Title IX Dept was completely incompetent and that falls under the purview of Starr.

Then again, this is Chip Brown reporting. I don't believe he knows anything. This is the guy who said is known for notoriously saying Texas was gone to the PAC 12 and that A&M would never leave for the SEC.

Really though, Starr will lose his job. Probably should deserve to lose it as well but I will hold judgment until the final report is released. Transitioning Starr out has been a work in process for a year or so as well. He was originally given the title "President" when he first started. He was later (within the past 2 years) given the title "President & Chancellor" and would of ultimately been moved to just "chancellor" as the years went on. He turns 70 soon and we will probably move to a younger president.

Starr has always been a slimeball. Baylor is the perfect place for him.
