Not that I expected Dallas to win this series, but it!s pretty much impossible to win an NBA playoff game when the other team shoots 30 more FTs than you do. Harden just gets bailed out on out of control drives far too often.

I'm definitely not optimistic about this, but I do think it was our best chance at a series win out of the 4 teams we could have played.

Yeah, I do agree about that.

I honestly have no idea. Maybe we tussled over some A&M/lsu issue or something.

Drawing fouls is part of his game, and he does it well (and also gets the benefit of the doubt a ton).

Like I've said before, he's basically the black iteration of Manu, only he is a starter.

He's mastered the art of flailing and mimicking contact by head motion. It's been infuriating to watch since the Grizz/Thunder series in 2011.

Maybe my mind is giving out on me, but I just dont remember prime Manu getting THAT level of treatment. I have an irrational hatred of his style going back to his OKC days.

True. Probably because Manu had more stars to lean on and wasn't on the floor for as many minutes as Harden has to be for HOU. When he had long hair for a couple of seasons, he was terrific at exaggerating contact.

The other thing is Manu didn't flop quite as often as Harden does. I know that sounds biased coming from me, but Harden seeks out a lot of contact in the open floor as a ballhandler. Manu primarily did his theatrics on defense or at the rim.

Harden flops more than anyone save maybe Chris Paul.

I admit, when it isnt against Dallas I find it funny watching him get shot by a high powered rifle 2-3 times a quarter

The Mavs gave the Rockets 16 free throws when you count the technical fouls, hack-a-Smith and Capela, and take fouls at the end of the game to stop the clock.

The discrepancy is really 29 to 17.

Oh I disagree. Manu was the progenitor of the upward head jerk that Harden and the clippers perfected.

Already dreading seeing him pull his patented Heliflopter move against us in this series

Yeah, that's true.

Funny thing is I see nearly every guard do that little head jerk now LeBron is good at it, too, as is Westbrook. It's so effective at drawing the ref's attention, and even if you don't get the foul call, the defender immediately gets tentative for fear of actually getting tagged with the foul, thus creating space.

As long as NBA refs are calling the game they way they have for the past decade plus, it's a brilliant tactic.

Totally. If you aren't doing it then you're not helping your team. Even hard asses like ZBo get in on the action.
