The Hawks have a sort of log jam at PG with Teague and Schroder. Both are on pretty cheap deals and the one I've seen mentioned as more likely to be moved is Teague. He still is under team control for another year, also. What do you think the Hawks could get in return for Teague?

They need help on the wing. Bazemore is going to get paid next year and Korver seems to be breaking down.

Definitely that's where we need help. My question was what quality player/ package of picks can we expect in return for Teague with the cost of PGs exploding and the cheap deal and team control Teague provides.

Don't think the Knicks would have any assets the Hawks would really want. It's not like they are gonna give us Kristaps. I could be wrong though. That is what sparked this thread.

I've seen one person suggest a deal with the Jazz for Gordon Heyward.

Dennis Schroder is high on the list of "players in the NBA I would like to uppercut".

They need to move Teague and they need to move Horford.

So far all I've seen on the trade front is a trade with the Knicks but that doesn't help us at all. The move that currently works is Teague for Afflalo, but the only redeeming thing about that trade is Afflalo has an expiring contract. Now if the Knicks want to talk about maybe sending Melo our way and getting a 3rd team involved, I'd be up for discussing it for sure.

We need to move on from Horford because he just doesn't fit the Center mold we need. He's athletic as all get out, but he's a 4 and not a 5. He's on the final year of his deal and will most likely want more than the Hawks would be willing to give him in the off-season. So move him now and get whatever we can for him.

As far as the needs for the Hawks we need a wing defender that can start so we can move Korver to 6th man. We also need strength down low to battle for the boards.

I like the potential trade for Gordon Heyward... I'd also rather trade Millsap and move Horford to the 4 where he should be but that's probably not gonna happen.

Jeff Teague is under control for another year. He's expendable due to a career low season this year, coupled with the steady emergence of Schroeder. There was talk about moving Teague before Coach Bud came on board, likewise there was talk of moving Horford as well.

Horford could be moved because he is in the final year of his contract and is 30 years old. If we can move him to a team that already has an established Center, he could dominate and stretch the court at the 4. Especially given his newfound 3 point shot this season.

I don't want to move Horford, but if they are looking at moving Teague, they may have to think about getting creative with their acquisitions. Also, as I pointed out, Horford will most likely get more money in free agency than we want to pay, so he could walk for nothing. He's a fan favorite, but this is a business. The Hawks are not going to win a championship this year, so why not get what you can for a player who may walk anyways. Hell, maybe he takes a hometown discount in the off-season and comes back to Atlanta.

Teague and WHO for Heyward? If Heyward is going to be moved they can get a lot more than Teague.

Teague and Muscala. Heyward is on a huge deal. It would be a salary dump for them while getting an average to above average PG.

Teague is an above average PG whose Achilles heal is that he lacks the tenacity to take over games in crunch time on a consistent basis. Sucks that he might be traded, but if the Hawks can get something valuable in return I'm all for it. Just let us keep Bazemore at the end of the day.

Bazemore, if he keeps playing the way he has been will find himself a nice paycheck in the off-season. I don't know what's going on with Korver, but man he is absolutely not the same Korver we had last year. It seems teams have figured out how to stop him and he doesn't have the skillset to dribble out of pressure. He's much more of a catch and shoot kind of guy. As much as I am a Korver fan, I wouldn't be opposed to moving Korver for the right price either.
