Yes, Bond did roids. But his gains over the period of time they happened in was not that remarkable in my experience, and the experience of friends/teammates. Nor is his weight loss after the fact.

He gained a total of 5 lbs (listed weight) over his first 10 seasons. Then between 1996 and 1997, his age 31 and 32 seasons, he gained almost 20 pounds. Over the next 5 years he put on an additional 20 pounds. And it's not like he got fat. So you're arguing that 40 pounds of muscle gain isn't remarkable for a man in his 30s because you gained 80 pounds when you hit puberty?

He was must see TV almost every night, it was amazing. We haven't seen anything like it since...or in 50 or 70 years before it.

Gotta agree with this...Just like Tiger Woods in the early 2000's... Or MJ in the 90's or Magic and the Lakers in the 80's.... He was a one of a kind player I just lost all respect for him for letting his head grow three sizes..... He was an unreal player before he became a freak.. BUT. If I had a choice with starting a team. I would take Griffey over Bonds... You take away griffs injuries and take away Bonds roid use.. I take Giff all day long......

what do you suspect?
Me? I don't care if he or anyone else did PEDs.

But I'll ask again, if every other player in the modern age immediately raises up the red flags when they have success late in their careers, why would we give him a pass, just because the media's involvement was different then? Seems a bit odd, no?

Bonds went from a peanut head to a melon head.

Side effect was worth it.

you do realize there are players as recently as 5-10 years ago that were successful into their late 30's that have not been suspected of using steroids. Because A) they didnt use them at all or B)they didnt get caught like Bonds, ARod and David Ortiz did.
