Barry Bonds obstruction of justice conviction thrown out by Ninth Circuit Court

The government charged a total of seven statements, only one of which the jury found to be obstructive. Two of these statements (including Statement C) appear to be wholly irrelevant — verbal detours with no bearing on the proceedings. One statement is “I don’t know,” followed by a brief explanation for the lack of knowledge. The rest are direct answers that the government claimed were false, all concerning whether defendant’s trainer had provided or injected him with steroids. In the context of three hours of grand jury testimony, these six additional statements are insufficient to render the otherwise innocuous Statement C material. If this were enough to establish materiality, few witnesses or lawyers would be safe from prosecution.

he cheated, everyone knows he cheated. i dont care about the whole conviction or whatever, but its not like theres anyone out there who actually thinks he was clean

Is it still cheating if everyone was doing it? The media started a witch hunt because they didn't like Barry Bonds. Dude is the GOAT in my book.

considering people back in like the 50s and 60s werent? yes. he can hold his place as the best of the steroid era, but he will never be above people like ruth, mays, aaron, jackson, etc

You mean the guys taking speed before games?
The biggest fallacy is the guys during 50's-80's were clean.

Cheater. frick Barroid and everyone like him. Everyone, even those that like to claim he's the GOAT know he cheated. Deny it all you want, rationalize it all you want, you know it. He's a double asterisk at best.

Bonds is the man. Sure he was a dick, but I like my athletes to have that mentality. Most of the greats do.
If he never gets into the hall it'll be a damn shame.
