How's the pitcher they transferred in from Natchitoches?

Pretty good, heard from a couple of the parents he's legit. Pitched shutout against WM and also hit a HR in game.

How many Cecchini kids are there?

There are 2 and if they keep progressing they should be there one day. I know both of them and I wouldn't bet against them. Their 1st cousin Josh Prince is also in the Brewers organization and was placed on their 40 man roster heading into spring training. Josh is from Sulphur but played for his uncle at Barbe.

Zachary won 14-13 in 9 innings. Many are saying it was a great game.

All is right in the world. Hopefully the LHSAA doesn't try to railroad their season this year.

Speaking of recruiting.... That was the most obvious one.

meanwhile on the other side of the state, Brother Martin laid the gauntlet down for everyone else...

4-0, 21 runs for and NONE against this weekend

they didn't beat chumps either

Brother Martin looked very solid in scrimmage at Ponchy. Was kind of expecting this. Btw, Greenies 4-0

Heard their game against West Ouachita was great! BM won 1-0 and it was a great pitchers duel.

Hey just wondering. How'd Barbe vote for that whole split playoffs thing? You know, the one where the public schools complained about the private schools recruiting players

They voted for the split, at the time of the vote I recall someone posting they knew the principal and she was belly aching about the recruiting the private schools did.
Was then, and is still now.

What is Barbe's percentage of out of district students enrolled?

If I remember a newspaper article correctly from earlier this year they were somewhere around 550 or 600 which would probably put them a little over 25% of students out of zone. The article was in the American Press I think and listed out of zone stats for all the schools in Calcasieu parish.

If they have 550-600 students out of zone, how are they not in the Select group?

I was told this weekend they are in the Select group for football but cannot verify only what I was told at the ball field. I'm not even sure of the criteria as I haven't followed that stuff very much.

The way they acted was the way the other team acted but the other team got different treatment.
