Why the frick Kelley would stay up that close to the boundary is what gets me? Slide in bounds and keep the clock running. You stay up that close you're asking for a hit like that.

Why isn't Gary melting about the block in the back he saw?

It was a dumb play for sure, and the hit wasn't illegal

Any other team that's called a block in the back. "Oh wait. He scored." Face mask.

I am unsure of the rules as it pertains to any blocking (legal/illegal) far from a play

quote:

Contact Against an Opponent Out of the Play
ARTICLE 12. a. No player shall tackle or run into a receiver when a forward pass to him obviously is not catchable. This is a personal foul and not pass interference.
b. No player shall run into or throw himself against an opponent
obviously out of the play either before or after the ball is dead.

I'd assume this was the penalty.

I'm totally neutral on this a game and am usually a fan Verne and Gary, but today this just sad... The level of homerism for Bama is beyond ridiculous

What a garbage way to end the half for Ole Miss.

This is 100% how I feel. I've always defended Gary to be a neutral commentator, but this is just pathetic.

Those last two drives were pathetic. Can't believe they sat on the ball

It's always been this way to outsiders.

But blind SEC homers loved Gary and Verne because he waved pom-poms for the conference - and that stoked the ego until you play Alabama and everyone gets mad.

That's his mandate...SEC and Bama, because conference thinks Bama is the name-brand and always has the best shot at the title game.

He's been a joke for 8 years.

College Football News wrote a big article on Gary years and years ago...about Pom-Pom sell-out Gary...for the conference for Bama...he's always been a shill. He has no neutrality, never has.

He's shilling hard for Bama because they are ranked #1.

He's doing his usual defend the SEC thing.

And the SEC can't lose the #1 ranking in the nation per his bosses.

This game is over. Ole Miss has blown their wad. No energy. No sense of urgency. Nothing. Same thing with Florida St.

BAMA 48
Ole Miss 34

I was listening to the game while taking a shower during the first Ole Miss drive and they showed no enthusiasm when Ole Miss scored. You would've thought they ran a 2 yard draw play the way they announced it

What's the Bama guy going to do with that axe?

I know if they have it at Death Valley LSU fans will get PTSD from the Carolina Giants game.
