Define help? it will get them some more revenue, won't help them get better ratings or draw more fans.

for frick sake a playoff game with the Yankees could not out draw a Tampa Bay vs Indianapolis with Curtis fricking Painter instead of Peyton Manning MNF game a couple of weeks ago

if they are gong to change anything it needs to be the idiotic playoff games that get played in the middle of the day during the work week.

this isnt the 1930s.

we have lights on the fields now.

they could easily set it up so every game is a night game.

its almost like they only want hardcore baseball fans to see the games.

This sucks. No free wins for the Cubs. Continuous interleague play. The extra wild card is absolute bullshite. Eight was a terrific number. Squares of two are excellent for playoffs (2, 4, 8, 16, 32...). frick you Bud Selig.

Everyone hold on! The astros and Jim Crane have said they will not move to the AL unless compensation is given.(could be draft picks)

I think it was even better with 4. 4 team divisions in each league. Win your division or gor the frick home. The 93 race for the NL West between Atl and SF was a trillion times more interesting and exciting than any wild card series. When the Dodgers beat the Giants on the last day of the season, Lasorda acted like they had won something.

I have never experienced four. Yeah, that would be pretty awesome as well.

Ideally, I wish baseball had enough of a fanbase to support 32 teams. NL West and East and AL West and East. Each division has eight teams.

This would be awesome. Actually, they could even do this with 28, which is far more realistic.

Exactly. They've overstayed their welcome. Time to go back to the AL.

Yes it will. More teams in the playoffs means more teams interested late in the season. That means more fans watching at the end of the season.

That will never change.

ETA: Having 5 teams from each league in the playoffs will actually make the regular season matter even more as opposed to de-valuing it.
