IF only Chris Carter could play like he's facing the A's in every game. Has a vendetta against his former team apparently

I never though it would happen, but my attitude towards Carter is starting to change.

I'm starting to be against trading him. Why not see if we strike gold?

Mark Appel throwing in the low 90's tonight (91-92mph). Results are better though. After 4 innings he's given up 2 ER. Listening to the radiocast, it sounds like his slider is nasty tonight.

Looks like Appel is done for the night. This is the first time all season he's reached the 6th inning. His changeup and slider were tough to hit and his fastball was up to 95mph a few times in the 6th. Move him up...now.

It's only one game of course, but it sounded like he was pounding the inside corner with his fastball (something he hasn't been able to do this year). Maybe a little confidence does the big fella some good.

He needs to get his head out of his arse. He has this year and one more and then he's probably done if he isn't showing significant improvement.

Eh, you might be done with in this scenario, but the Astros won't. They coddled Tanner Bushue for 4 years and they didn't have nearly this much invested in him. HOPEFULLY, Appel finally gets it.

In year 4 he was in Lexington (A ball)... he had a stellar 18.82 ERA. They brought him back the next year in Tri-city and he bombed again before giving up the ghost. Appel will be given every opportunity to either prove himself or fail miserably.

Appel gave up a double to leadoff the game and I'm sure everyone watching was saying "Oh boy, here we go again"

But he struck out the next two and then got a ground out.

An inning like that, has to give you some confidence going into the second inning.
