Doesn’t seem like the passes is the issue here.

Possible inappropriate relationships with students!?

Eta. Recent grads

I'm reading. The guy said one thing to his players and another to the school.

The "through whatever venue" is HIM GETTING THE PASSES FOR HIM.

Coach made a couple of calls and got the passes, not via the official school list, but via other means.

It's obvious what he did... or maybe it's not obvious to you but it is to everyone else.

And I still say that even insubordination over this issue seems like an odd hill to die on.

The ACCS parent upthread said there was more going on and this was just one of many issues between him and the administration. I’m wondering what those issues were considering that winning tends to get stuff overlooked.

So my guess is the priests were involved here.

This isn't a parish school and it's not (to my knowledge) associated with an order. It's just an diocesan school.

I’m curious why the Admin wouldn’t want boosters on the field?

Small town private school. If you let these "boosters" get field passes, then every parent who pays tuition is going to feel like they are entitled. The PTA president, etc.

The article says the admin got complaints, FROM THE PARENTS, about how the boosters were on the field.

Jealous parents. The school doesn't want to deal with the complaining, so they just say no to everyone.

All I’m going to say, is the firing was warranted, but the school is a shitehole. Has been corrupt for a very long time. There is a small group of parents that run the school and make the decisions. Its always been like that, and they always screw things up. Would send my kids to the private school in thib if I lived on that side of the Mississippi

There is a very good chance the "Boosters" were just his friends and not actually individuals who donated to the program.

There’s no way that a school admin fires a winning coach without the priest involved to some degree.

Not necessarily. My dad was the principal at a catholic high school for about 15 years, and never did the priest dictate to him who he could and could not hire. With that said, some priests are not that involved with the day to day school operations and personnel. Especially when it comes to sports. Most priests just show up for events, catholic schools week, etc.

Considering where ACCS is, may as well move across the Sunshine Bridge and go to a public like Dutchtown, East Ascension, St Amant, etc. rather than screwing around with a school in Thibodaux.

ACHS is a school under Baton Rouge Diocese control like St. Michael, Catholic, St. John, etc... I believe the head of the Diocese has the final call for letting a Teacher/Coach go.

made him think he was bulletproof. Well he wasn’t

I mean, if it's true that he already has an agreement with a 4a school, then I'm not sure that the "bullet" was harmful. Maybe he knew he had other opportunities, so he wasn't going to kiss arse to his current employer?

It’s not. His GF graduated from the school last year. And AC has a history with coaches and students that prolly influenced a lot of this. Seems like they were just looking for an excuse

We are talking about a 1A school right? I mean their attendance was probably 500 people for games?

Who the hell cares if a coach let a couple people he wanted on the sideline of the dome? They could have probably fit every parent on the sideline.

Seems petty on both sides. So typical snafu for HS football.

I’ve heard he’s got a list of infractions a mile long that the administration has swept under the rug due to wining football and I’ve heard rumors of him partying with his players including partying in NOLA after the game.

All rumors, none substantiated, but they make a lot more sense to me that this is what he’d be fired over as opposed to argument over field passes

I think there were pictures taken and are now circulating around.

Also heard unsubstantiated rumors of a relationship with a recent grad that raised some eyebrows.

While I see how it could be cause for concern, I don't think they were ever together (officially) while she was a student so I am not sure that should matter if she is 1) over 18 and 2) already graduated. Them folks is trashy.
