Sure, as a born and bred Cardinals fan I've been conditioned from birth to hate the Cubs and Cubs fans no differently than Cubs fans are conditioned from birth to hate the Cardinals and Cardinals fans.
But I just spent last weekend with close friends who are Cubs fans. It was a special moment to witness their excitement at the idea the Cubs may accomplish something they haven't accomplished in over a century. Some Cubs fans were born, lived long lives, and died of old age having never witnessed a Cubs championship.
It was fun to watch and share in their excitement! As a Cardinals fan I'm very familiar with what Cubs fans are experiencing.
Sure, I'll always "hate" the Cubs because that's my lifelong duty as a good Cardinals fan. But sometime you have to step aside, subdue your hate, and simply allow destiny to work her magic.
I'm not going to let my hatred for the Cubs prevent me from enjoying this historical MLB moment.
The Cubs will win the World Series this year! And, for this one postseason (never again), I have boarded the Cubs Train!

Too bad your daughters dream didn't come true

Only proves that you're not a real Cards fan. I couldn't root for the White Sox or Tigers if my life depended on it. Last couple of years, hoped any NL would blast the Royals.

That bandwagon is pretty full so you may have to sit on some dude's lap.

How's it feel to be universally hated and to know not a single frick is given about any post you make regardless of content?

Between this douche and peej, I don't know who I want to see go away faster. If Lyle shows up, I'll just quit TD until after baseball season.

No.
I'm very much on the Cubs Train for the rest of the playoffs. They're a really good team and very fun to watch. You can see it in their eyes. They want this! They want to make history for their organization and fans.
That's something I can root for (albeit momentarily of course).

Actually the opposite. What I'm doing is why Cardinals fans are commonly believed to be the Best Fans in Baseball.
We stand and cheer for opposing teams and players when we see greatness.
We a great fanbase. We are the Best Fans in Baseball.

Wow...hope all Cubs fans aren't like the people who've posted in this thread. I've been nothing but cordial.
