They play the way you should. The Mets can't hit and poor execution. Clutch and great relief.

If a team ever deserved to lose a world series game, it was the Mets tonight.

3 errors.

Error on the game winning out.

Error on a double play ball to lose the game after the error that tied the game.

Manager leaving Harvey in with the season on the line and Harvey well over 100 pitches. That might be excusable, but then leaving him in when he walked the tying run on a full showing he had lost control at that point.

Allowing 5 runs in extra innings to kill any chance of a rally.

Just damn, the Mets were a total failure tonight.

Harold reynolds was talking about it too. The logic didn't really make sense. Even if you pull Harvey after he allows a baserunner, you're putting your closer into a situation he isn't used to.

Seemed like a low percentage call.

Mets weren't a top flight defensive team all year and the bullpen has struggled at times

No surprise that the defense and bullpen failed them in key moments

The future is bright in Flushing

The manager let Harvey talk him into going back out, which shouldn't happen, but maybe Harvey was convincing. That happens and is a bad move, but can be excused.

What can't be excused is leaving him in after he showed very little control in that lead off walk. Two of the balls were WAY out of the strike zone getting to the 3-2 count, then on 3-2 he almost threw it in the dirt. And on that 3-2 pitch with a 2 run lead, you absolutely have to throw a strike. Doesn't matter if you just groove one right down the middle. You take a chance on giving up a home run before you walk the leadoff man on base with a 2 run lead in the 9th. That really told you Harvey had lost it.

At that point and about 120 pitches in, you HAVE to pull him.

Needed Harvey to shut them down, he didn't

shite happens

I hate this type of analysis, the royals were better and it showed, they deserved to win

We lost mejia to a stupid PED suspension, Parnell and Blevins to injury and patched the bullpen together with Reed and Clippard. The Royals have guys like Herrera blowing people away and setting up the best closer in baseball. Familia isn't even the mets closer, he is the mets version of Herrera.

Murphy is an average 2nd baseman, Duda is really a 4th outfielder playing competent 1B.

We will see how Alderson reshapes the lineup next year with Murphy and Cespedes probably on their way out and getting Conforto for a full season.

Which Met projected starter (pitcher) has the best 2016 season?

Royals are an amazing team. As long as Madison Bumgarner isn't facing them.

Rotation next year:
Harvey
DeGrom
Syndegaard
Matz
Wheeler/Niese

Zack Wheeler had Tommy John surgery and we probably won't see him until the middle of Summer. Niese will be the 5th starter on opening day.

Harvey or Degrom are the best candidates for Cy Young from the Mets next year. Syndegaard and Matz have the brightest futures, they are both very young and have a lot to learn about controlling batters.

I think Degrom leads the team in wins but Syndegaard leads the team in strikeouts.

We drop Colon, hopefully get Parnell and Blevins back, resign Familia and pray that Mejia has stopped taken steroids long enough to pass his piss tests.

Reed and Clippard are serviceable but Robles in the 7th, Familia in the 8th and Mejia in the 9th is the way it is supposed to play out

I never would have figured that a poster from Jersey could handle losing gracefully. Props JEAUXBLEUX props

Huge Mets fan but the better team won. And the Mets made it painful at times.
Still a fun season and a bright future. We just need to find some consistant hitters for next year.

As tough as it was to watch my team of over 40 years lose, the Royals were and are the better team. They put constant pressure on the Mets and we broke at certain points.

Future is bright. Overall it was a great season for the Mets.

Congrats to the royals, they were the better team and the Mets made way to many mistakes over the entire series, you can't do that against a team that is as sound as the Royals are.. Rough end to a great season, the future is bright
