I respect the athletic ability of the modern NBA player, but, honestly, they couldn't hang with old school players like Dr. J, Kareem, Michael J., Bird, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone - those guys had an intangible quality that seems missing - particularly from the superstars of the day - Kobe and Lebron, particularly - incredible BB players, but maybe 1/10 the heart and will to win those guys I listed had.

My philosophy has always been to trust players to make their own choices. When I saw Michael that night, I simply told him that I respected his choice to lie naked and unresponsive beneath ice cubes. And that was that.

Is this real? lol

No. I was commenting generally on modern/old school players.

Michael Jordan's greatness as a player isn't satire.

MJ sounds like a fricking a-hole!

I was sleeping at the team’s hotel, and around 2 a.m. I got a phone call from Michael’s bodyguard. He told me that Dragonheart was about to come on HBO and that Michael wanted everybody to know

Is it HIV? Is that maybe the quality? Or being white and ugly? Or fathering a ton of kids you dont take care of? Or racking up gambling debts and getting your father killed? Is this the intangible thing you are talking about?

Dennis Rodman (Bulls forward): The ants had eaten off most of the flesh from his arms and torso—you could see a lot of his skeleton—and yet, somehow, he just took control of that game.

Doesn't sound like satire to me...

You're trying harder than the author.

The point is, when you type what you did, you are impossible to speak with regarding sports. You let emotion and irrational feelings cloud your brain in the name of an intangible mist that the old players had
