South Carolina got good enough under Spurrier to where I would put them in the "maybe one day with one freak athlete..." category

The committee needs to go to the wayside. The BCS-era computers generally put the teams in the proper ranking order at the end of the year IMO.. with the expansion to 4 teams, by all means, let anyone in the top 4 compete for the championship.

that's what everyone wanted

I wouldn't be opposed to allowing computers to count MOV either, which I remember was not allowed because people were afraid of running up the scores.

Maybe cap the effects of the MOV in the mathematics such that any victory over some arbitrary amount (like 14 or 17 points) registers the same.

Texas A&M owns this thread.

No school and fanbase that fricked up and weird should ever be in the CFP.

Let's look at every major conference
PAC 12 Cal, Arizona
Big XII Kansas, Iowa State
BIG Indiana, Rutgers and Maryland
ACC Duke, Wake
SEC Kentucky, Vandy, Ole Miss

I am going by schools who haven't won a conference championship in a long time

I would be curious who everyone thinks the teams are that have no legitimate shot in any given year.

Dude there are 128 teams.

But lets begin:

Eastern Michigan
Kent State
UL Monroe
North Texas
Texas State
Ball State
Troy
Army
Idaho
Akron

Aren't winning or coming close to the national title just like all the 65 teams ahead of them in some poll.

CFB is great and has a lot of teams...

But just like the Heisman, the race to the top is about a few teams...and mostly preseason favorites.

Everyone makes a big deal about Georgia winning once because they were unranked in preseason (but it's still a big school) or BYU winning because they started the season unranked...they were like #27...they were getting votes, played nobody, won their games and kept moving up.

CFB titles like Heisman have always been popularity contests - just like when undefeated Penn State got shut out over undefeated Nebraska or undefeated Auburn to undefeated USC.

You left out Mississippi State

Literally their only conference championship in history was 1941

All-time under .500

Historically the worst SEC program
