Berman's sound effects would crack me up. The sputtering goal line run in particular.

So you think the NFL used to be a better game because NFL Prime Time showed more highlights?
It's symbolic. Style and hype over substance. That's the modern-day NFL.
I don't watch, but I'd be willing to bet that their Saints/Browns highlights included both of Johnny Football's handoffs and his incomplete pass, along with 4 or 5 other plays.

Will never forget the Primetime when we knocked off the 49ers in San Fran.

Back in the day when we had to keep our fantasy stats ourselves...I used to love Primetime. They would be a few scores that I could not get info on and they would show every highlight. Loved it!!

ESPN still has Primetime on Monday. I think around 3pm

Bump
Old Primetime was full of life. It's was entertaining watching the actual highlights of the game. Berman was magic on the set back then. Yea, we now rely on the experts to tell us their opinions.

I do! In the late 90s to early 2000s it was my favorite show on TV.

I don't think it's anything like the original.

Berman was born to do that show. His style doesn't work for other stuff but it was perfect for Primetime with the music. I definitely miss it, it was awesome

It's the only thing Berman is good at, but football is his specialty.
Well, he's good at tantrums too.

ESPN Prime Time was a fantastic show, and had terrific, extended highlights. It was almost like getting the Cliffs Notes on the whole game. Also, the running jokes were pretty great.

Exactly, prime time used to have a ton of highlights.
