Michael Jordan comes to mind as he must've really loved baseball to quit being the greatest ever to try it.

Tim Duncan would probably have been an Olympic swimmer had a hurricane not come along.

Which is why he cried when he won tournaments and retired...

Sometimes athletes just spray BS all over the place to try and make a few $

Baseball was supposedly Jackie Robinson's 4th best sport. He lettered in 4 sports at UCLA and won the NCAA championship for long jump.

He "played baseball" instead of being suspended for a year after he got his dad murdered over gambling debt.

Supposedly Dave Winfield's favorite sport was football

Sandy Koufax was offered a basketball schol to Cincy and assumed that's where his future lay, but he was offered a 5K bonus to play baseball and signed with The Dodgers

Joe Namath wanted to sign w/his hometown Pirates as a shortstop (lots of future QBs played SS -- requires a strong arm) for the bonus money, but his mother convinced him to go to college

Most football players love basketball and a few played it at the college level.

Others:

Tom Glavine (hockey)
Tony Gwynn (basketball)

I don't know if either of those was their first love as a sport though.

I think LeBrons true love is Basketball, but he has talked about football a lot. He has said he misses playing the game, and back in 2013, Lebron said he wants to play in one professional football game before its all over. I doubt this will ever happen but heres the LINK back in '13.
