The wife of former Colts cornerback Antonio Cromartie alleges that his release earlier this month was related to his decision to kneel in protest during the pre-game playing of the national anthem. Terricka Cason’s comments on the social media platform Instagram came in response to Colts owner Jim Irsay’s comment this week that NFL games aren't the proper venue for such protests. In her statement, which has since been deleted, Cason said, in part,

“You are nothing more than an entertainer. Just shut up and do what we say… One things for sure I know my husband was told Not to take a Knee and he went with his heart and he took one. And that cost him his Job.. and Clearly this Statement backs that up… Just Paid to put on a show.”

Cromartie has not publicly expressed similar sentiments.
The Colts declined comment Thursday.

Exactly.
Do what you want off the field as far as protests. On the field, you're a puppet.

Now that he is likely out of the NFL, we'll set the over/under on their marriage at 2.5 years.

I'm taking the under at 2. Child support $$$

Maybe he can take the time off to go on a nationwide trip to meet all his kids for the first time.

Uh, NFL is bottom line.

You can kill people but if you can cover, you're good.

So...probably cut because he wasn't cutting it.

Dude is 32.

And last year...

In his return to the Jets, Cromartie ranks 90th among NFL cornerbacks this season. He has surrendered five touchdowns in coverage through seven games, giving up a 132.5 passer rating on targets thrown his way. Cromartie has five missed tackles, while only producing three stops.

Cromartie signed a four-year, $32 million deal to return to the Jets. On February 22, 2016, the Jets released Cromartie after just one season.

He was only able to get a 1-year deal with the Colts.

Finally a NFL organization I can get behind. Have not seen a single NFL game this season, but might start looking at the Colts games

If you know what's good for you, do not become a fan of the Colts.
