How many years does it have to happen before you can admit to yourself its not luck?

Bill must have been ghandi in another life to get a decade of luck

They've won the AFC East 11 times since 2001. That's not luck. That's just plain impressive.

The Pats aren't lucky. How can something happen year in and year out and be lucky. Decimated by injuries and they still just win. Even when Brady was hurt, the patriots went 11-5. They are the best ran franchise for the past decade by far.

They're just good. I was done hating on them years ago. Gotta appreciate sustained excellence.

Why? All all that counts in the NFL is W's, and they know how to get them. Some games may not be pretty, but they certainly know how to win games in the clutch.

Why?

Well...for starters they have an average offense, a below average defense, and have been decimated by injuries all season long. When you look at this team on paper they have no business being atop the AFC East. That's why I am in awe of them winning 12 games as well as their division.

In their first 43 years the Patriots never won 12 games in a season. After beating the Bills it was the 8th time they've won at least 12 games in a season since 2003.

This could be the best coaching job by Belichick and maybe Brady's best season considering who he didn't have.

It's a little bit of luck. The Jets have been the only occasional contender in the division in that time frame.

Bills haven't made the playoffs since what, 99?

Dolphins have been shite since the Fiedler era ended, which I think was 2002. I know they won the division in 08, but have they made the playoffs any other year during the Pats run?

Jets were solid during the early years of Edwards and Ryan, but for the most part have been mediocre.

Not hating on the Pats, Belichick is one of the greatest coaches of all time. But they are fortunate to be in a division with those 3 teams.

would be interesting to see how those 3 teams do against everybody else, know they aren't that good but do the Pats beat them appreciably more or less than everybody else does?

If those 3 are worth 5-1 to the Pats then the Pats go 7-3, which is still good, against everybody else to get to 12-4.

I am ambivalent about the Pats because I don't care about the entire AFC too much one way or the other. Them not winning a SB since the 2004 season shows how hard it is to win SBs.

Yeah I'm not trying to marginalized their success. It's only 6 games, and they were usually playing a first place schedule, which means they were usually playing (and beating ) the other dominant teams in the conference

How about that sleeper hold on the game winning touchdown against the Saints?

The Patriots won this year with a elite special teams, very good running game, and an average passing game anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what the hell they are talking about

Holding calls are missed all the time. And usually arent called on the last play of the game. Just how it is
