And just like that the Bucks are relevant again. Draft wisely.
Giannis was the 15th pick.
Cavs drafted Anthony Bennett instead.

its not like he's the ONLY one or something. He's a phenomenal player and if he develops a shot will easily become an elite player for a decade.
that being said:
jabari parker helped a lot of the season (before injury)
malcolm brogdon has been a HUGE steal
khris middleton has come back solidly (to replace parker)
greg monroe has been a huge bench spark offensively
they're young, but man their potential is high and I agree Giannis is the key to that. A guy who can defend 1-4 (hell even 5) but is a ball handler.

Nah. Everyone understood the Minnesota situation was pretty different; the Bucks thrive by playing reasonable defense-- a Top 10 rate by most metrics-- and staying out of the way of their one offensive superstar, as his game grows.
The Bucks also made the playoffs last year-- so this isn't exactly new or surprising territory for the Bucks.
The Wolves, by contrast, have been expected to be a team that has to sort out its offensive hierarchy while learning how to play some sort of a vague semblance of team defense.
In the end, its going to be an interesting question as to which approach is going to pay off more in the long term- the Bucks are a year or two ahead in the design of the roster, particularly with veteran role players and the roster fit of everyone around Giannis. The Wolves still haven't decided who will be their starting PG long term.

Minnesota have 3 guards who really don't complement each other well at all. Someone needs to get shipped off.

Ah, true, year before last.
They retooled around Giannis, though-- they got rid of ball heavy weights like Brandon Harris, got more defensive flexibility than playing Ilysova, found a post-anchor physical guy in Monroe to replace the headcase of Larry Sanders, and finally decided to let Middleton and Giannis handle most of the backcourt duties.
They were still (and remain) years ahead of the Timberwolves on the developmental curve.

historically, there was a threat on realgm about a year ago and they broke down every team and their draft picks the last 20 years and no team drafts better than the bucks historically. they just can't keep the players there or they trade them or whatever but the bucks rarely miss on draft picks their last real miss was Yi who was like 30 years old when he was drafted

I wouldn't say the Bucks are relevant yet. They barely went .500 and got a 6th seed in the East. If they manage to win this series then ok but winning a mostly meaningless playoff game won't do it

Middleton returning is why our Bucks got so much better - he's defensive field general it's like night and day
