BOGALUSA, La. — Albany High School forfeited their final football game of the season against Bogalusa High School after the LHSAA decided not to move the game to a neutral site.

Albany High School officials tried to have the Nov. 4 matchup moved to a neutral site over safety concerns after a 15-year-old boy was killed in a shooting outside Bogalusa High School's football stadium during the school’s Homecoming game on Oct. 14.

Principals of schools in their district voted to move the game to a neutral site.

The Bogalusa mayor begged the LHSAA to reconsider.

The LHSAA reversed the decision, so Albany decided it was safer to stay home than risk a Friday night in Bogalusa.

I remember having to go to Bogalusa for drill back in the day.

Appears it has developed into even more of a shite hole.

Albany would have had a home playoff game if they had won

That game would have been for the district championship

Not surprising, the crime in Bogalusa is out of control. Many officials in that area are very leery of officiating there.

Yep. District votes to move to neutral site. Principal cries about fairness to seniors and mainly about losing money. LHSAA caved. And now Bogalusa gets no money at all instead of less money from neutral site

Lhsaa didn’t cave, Bogalusa submitted a much more comprehensive plan than they had earlier.

And then the district voted to change that decision after a security plan was put in place.

Albany was going to take an L either way. Bogalusa would have beaten them by 40.

Bogalusa is #2 in the Div III non select power ratings, at this point they will get a first round bye then host a regional game.

Will the team they play forfeit as well?

What are the demographics of Albany?

Chances Bogalusa plays the race card?

If you look closely enough chalmetteowl is already doing it. And he’s a super duper high school sports know it all so it must be true.
