You mean you're not a fan of Ryno's incredible baseball mind and his constructive criticism?

22-23 year old baseball players all should be putting up hall of fame/all-star numbers by that age.

mike Trout does it, why can't anyone else???

At the end of the day it's honestly not terribly important. Especially the stage the franchise is at right now

Hang on...

Are we sure AJ doesn't have an elbow condition?

Well, I like what I heard (from Hinch and Luhnow), but saying the right things is easy. We'll see how this goes.

Maybe he learned something from his Dback days. If not, start guessing the manager hire in 2 years.

Yeah, he was the laughing stock of the league when he was in Arizona. Shocked he's getting a 2nd chance

Did Biggio get an interview ? Never heard of Hinch. He will be fired after three seasons.

This guy had to be hired as a sabermetric puppet for Luhnow. I hate this sabermetric shite

me too. it sounds good but it really is overrated and doesn't work very well. plus, the book by beane realliy is a crock of shite.he takes credit for everything.

Hinch is as wed to sabermetrics as Lunow is.
If it works, Astros should soar.

Hinch is just a yes man. Anyone that doesn't realize this needs to open their eyes. The Astros weren't looking for an independent baseball mind. Hinch is there to do whatever Luhnow tells him to do.

I'm a fan of Luhnow so this hire doesn't bother me at all.

This could backfire in an extraordinary way. If it does, I just hope we don't permanently damage the relationship between the players and the organization.

ETA: As I've said, though, I'm hoping for the best.

I'm in a wait and see on the new manager. I know he had a small albit terrible run as the manager of the D-Backs but at least this guy has been more than a lowly base coach before this gig ie. Bo Porter. I know many who are left in the fan base are not happy with the hire but I say give it a chance. We have some solid pieces in place and I think Hinch is right and we can shock the world. Does that mean WS, no i'm not that much of a homer but we could possibly make the playoffs next season if we make key additions in areas of need.

It's a stepping stone hire.

Bo's job was to hold down the fort until the prospects arrived.

Now, Hinch's job will be to foster these guys along and hopefully take us to being a contender

Then when we're done with him, we'll hire a real manager to get us a championship

I just wish we didn't have to make another "stepping stone" hire. I understand it, but I'm not a huge fan of hiring someone that will inevitably be fired.
