A Manti Te'o Timeline: Fact or Fiction? (Extremely Long)

I created a new thread b/c the other thread kind of veered away from the story and because I could condense all of the information into one particular thread by doing this. This is by no means completely exhaustive, but is instead a pretty short-hand timeline that tries to hit the major points of the situation. Still a lot of questions and lies to be parsed through IMO.

2009:
Obviously his father lied about the 2009 meeting in Stanford. Te'o also lied with Thamel, claiming he met her through his cousin. Then in the Schaap interview he basically says Thamel misquoted him and was wrong.
Then he says they met in 2009 on facebook? But their first twitter communication in 2011 says "nice to meet you!"...what is that about?
Yes, this means there are 3 or 4 different initial "meetings" between the two depending on which version you choose to believe.
2010-Early to Mid 2011:
Substantial parts of 2010 and the first part of 2011 seem completely blank, only talking on and off, sometimes to Ronaiah. Why in October/November 2011 did it pick back up randomly? There were no requests to meet these people during this time?
October 2011
Te'o states in the Pete Thamel article that they became a couple in late 2011. He has since recanted that story by claiming it was actually around April/May 2012 they really became something more than friends (post-car wreck). In the Schaap interview, Te'o states in late 2011 Lennay was having problems w/ her boyfriend. WTF?
Were they ever a couple? Notre Dame students apparently said it was well known around campus during this time that he hooked up with other girls. Further, anonymous football players have questioned the validity of this relationship?
There should be LOTS of contact b/t the two that investigators or the media or whoever could pinpoint w/ phone records, facebook interactions, twitter interactions, etc for this specific period if they were indeed "falling in love"...after all, in the Schaap interview he claims was her "shoulder to cry on" while she was having boyfriend problems.

Some of the highlights include Lennay breaking up with her other "boyfriend" by Oct. 27th and claiming still on the 30th that she is single and not looking.

Nov. 7th: Then we find out from DeadSpin that what is killing her father is Leukemia (prior to Lennay having Leukemia).
Nov. 10th: her father dies.
Nov. 22nd: She's still hating on her ex-boyfriend
Apparently following ND, USC, and Stanford football all very closely at this time (both Oct. and Nov. of 2011)
Nov. 26th: Originally calls herself the GF of Te'o even though it does not match the Schaap interview timeline.
This is while she is in New Zealand, nonetheless.

Dec. 1: Per Dead Spin, Manti or someone purporting to be Manti let everyone know via Lennay's account that the blood transfusion was a success, etc.
That also doesn't match the Schaap interview timeline.
Early December: Lennay returns from New Zealand...only to leave for Dubai again soon.
Dec. 5th to Dec. 18th: She's in Dubai, but still referring to Te'o as her boyfriend.
At some point in late December of this year Te’o lies to his father about meeting Lennay in Hawaii.
January 2012
Jan 28: Says she loves Te'o
February 2012
Lots of flirting online between the two in early February, but it then looks like they broke up.
Her birthday was supposedly on Valentine's Day (once again, come on Te'o), but she said she was Valentineless this year and Te'o called her his "best friend" and "grumpy" while wishing her a happy birthday on this day.
Feb. 15: She now decides that she loves Te'o again, but that are apparently arguing throughout all of February.
March 2012
March 18: Te'o and Lennay are waking up together (on opposite ends of the country) for church at the same time.

April 28 2012-November 2012
April 28th Lennay has her supposed car wreck. This kicks off the whole coma episode, but her breathing improves when she hears his voice b/c she can recognize it. Her family is expressing to Manti how important it is. At this point, he's still being hoaxed if you believe his side of the story and then we get this:

That's why he never went to see her from the Schaap interview. You know why else? Because there was never a fricking relationship. Check this out:

Before the car crash, it was -- we were talking. I was talking to her. I was talking to other girls. Just trying to get to know people. I was a college player, just trying to get a feel of who was who.
So, the first time he considers himself in a relationship w/ this girl is when she's in a coma? Love of his life and all that stuff, huh?
Then maybe the most ridiculous part of his story, if he claims he was duped, b/c this is a little too stupid:

It's kind of weird to think about it now. I was actually on the phone when she actually got out of the coma. She was breathing as normal as I'm talking to a person breathing. On that phone call, all she utters is "Manti." I'm back at home at the time for summer break. And she utters "Manti." So I'm sitting there … like, by the way, hello, And she says "Manti, Manti" in a faint voice. That's when she wakes up. It happened about two, three, four days after I got home (in mid-May).
It's after the coma that he claims to have spoke to her every single day and stayed up late nights sleeping with the phone by his side:

Show me the records. But this is actually a lie too. He tweets at her during this time per the new Dead Spin story NUMEROUS times.

A 3-4 month relationship? Really? Wait a minute:

September 2012
September 12th both his grandmother and Lennay pass away.
He grieves, mourns, sends white roses, and breaks down at practice when the casket is closed within the coming days.
October 2012
In October, Thamel gets his interview with various lies sprinkled throughout. He researched and found the various lies. Wrote the story anyway.
Media all over the nation run with it and it blows up.
By late October and through November the ND for National Champs and Te'o for Heisman movements were in full swing w/ the primary focus being Te'o and the year his had, both on and off the field.
Further, FWIW, Te'o gets another girlfriend somewhere in these two months.
So, just to recap this love story:
Te'o and Lennay speak for a couple months and Te'o falls for her, but she still has a boyfriend and Te'o is just her shoulder to cry on. Then the accident occurs and now they start dating. When did Lennay and her boyfriend break up? We're never told. We're only told that they start dating in Mid-May up until her death in September. He skipped out on seeing her when he knew she had leukemia during his 4th of July hiatus. In September, she dies. By October she was "the love of his life" and by November he was getting laid elsewhere. Remarkable.
November 2012
Ronaiah brings Pookah to meet Te’o, which is when Ronaiah creeped out uncle Te’o and lied about helping with the all-Polynesian football camp/charity stuff.
Why didn’t Te’o also think he was suspicious?

What was he doing the entire time during the meeting then? Staring at the girl while Ronaiah blabbered on and on about fundraising and Polynesian football bullshite? Also, Te’o and Ronaiah had communicated via Twitter long before this meeting ever occurred. Wouldn’t you think Te’o would be a little more perceptive to what Ronaiah was saying considering that fact and considering that Ronaiah was apparently in charge of the hospital visitation for Lennay?
Early December 2012: The Twitter Game
Supposedly, on the 6th, he gets the call at the awards show. But, in what is probably my favorite part of story, there are reasons to question that.
Sometime before Dec. 3rd: @jayRahz questioned Lennay's existence and tweeted at her, meaning that those following her (including Te'o)would have had the potential to see that tweet. Then, @jayRahz tweeted @Catfish and @nevschulman (the main character in the original documentary) saying Lennay was fake, once again giving Te'o an opportunity to see it.
Dec. 3rd: @nevschulman tweets @mteo_5 and @lennaykay informing him that Lennay and her family do not exist. Te'o has over 195, 000 followers that should be aggregated with the amount of followers that Lennay has to show that even if he didn't see this tweet, SOMEBODY most certainly did.
Teo was active on twitter between the 3rd and 6th. He tweeted once on the 3rd, 4 times on the 4th, and once on the 5th. He at least had the opportunity to see it.

Assuming Te’o was not in on it by this point, did not see any of these earlier tweets, and nobody made him privy to the earlier tweets, then we go to Dec. 6.
Dec. 6: In Orlando for an awards ceremony, receives a call saying Lennay isn’t dead. Rather, she was forced to fake her death to protect herself from drug dealers?
Dec. 6 to Dec. 23: Allegedly, Te’o attempts to figure this thing out on his own for 2 and a half weeks, but Lennay is stumping him every time he asks for evidence (i.e. the time stamped picture by the landmark)
Dec. 8: At Heisman Trophy Presentation, he does interview discussing his girlfriend and grandmother dying of cancer. But wait:
Well, apparently he was talking about it garnering sympathy from it, but it wasn’t really affecting him.
Dec. 24: Tells his mother that Lennay is still alive after trying to figure it out for himself
Dec. 25: Tells his father
Dec. 26: Tells the ND D Coordinator and then Kelly. Kelly informs him that she is dead and that is how the situation will be handled. Thus, it is at this point that ND was aware of the possibility that this was a hoax.
Dec. 27/28: Te’o returns from Hawaii, discusses situation w/ Diaco (DC), Kelly (HC), and Swarbrick (AD) in person rather than over the phone. They say will launch an investigation.
From the perspective of Te’o, this is how the investigation played out:

Jan 5: ND reveals the findings of their investigation to the Te’o parents while in Miami for the BCSNCG.
The group allegedly responsible for the hoax and the potentially living Lennay Kekua (at least in Manti’s mind) show up in Miami for the game, fool Te’o into thinking he’ll get to meet them before his curfew at 11 and then they dupe him again by showing up too late.
Jan 7: The actual game. We all know what happened. Te’o doesn’t actually exist either. He was hugging his girlfriend, not missing tackles. Blah Blah Blah.
Jan 16: Dead Spin breaks the story and the ND AD
Swarbrick holds press conference.
Jan 18: Te’o off-camera midnight interview w/ Schaap in which he claims to have not know this was all a hoax until January 16th when the Dead Spin article came out. Obviously, this did not match the Swarbrick timeline.
ETA: At some point, either the 17th or 18th I believe, Ronaiah supposedly sent Te'o an apology via direct message on Lennay Kekua's twitter account. A couple of things were questionable about that. That account had been reactived recently and had been anything but apologetic about the situation (i.e. mocking Te'o's performance in NC game), but now we're supposed to believe it is definitely Ronaiah and he's definitely sending this message?

Thanks. Luckily I kept a short-hand timeline most of the way through because for some reason no other story has ever interested me this much. Thus, this didn't take too long to put together. Just had to go through the new Dead Spin twitter article today.

It seems that Teo had a shallow online 'relationship' with some chick who was really fake, that he may have still believed she was real when she 'died', and that he blatantly over exaggerated the extent and depth of their 'relationship' to the media and continued exaggerating because he liked the attention the media gave him over his 'tailoring' (not because he was embarrassed).
At some point he realized the girl had never existed, and when it started to come out in early December, he panicked because it's one thing to exaggerate a relationship with someone who really existed...but it becomes really effing obvious that you're an attention-seeking serial liar when said girl turns out to have never existed after the media has printed your heart-tugging stories without fact checking.
And the big elephant in the room is the fictitious courtship Teo made up out of thin air, those lies that the media continues to ignore by focusing on the initial 'catfish'.
