I’ll check back after lunch for your formal top 15 of all time, ok?

Nebraska would score points on LSU but they wouldn’t be able to stop Burrow and those receivers barring a shite ton of turnovers and drops.
I wouldn't have much confidence in either team stopping the other offense.

Or tell us what's in 2001 Miami's resume to suggest they're in the GOAT discussion...

Nope. Auburn never had the ball in the 4th with a chance to tie or take the lead.

Florid had the ball with 7 minutes left in the game at the LSU 16 down 7.

I'm guessing that "a look back" is pretty much the only direction a Tiger fan can go these days without having a serious seizure.

That’s not the point. You keep talking about close games with Miami. Yet LSU only beat a very average AU team 23-20, and barely beat Bama by 5.

2001 Da U defense vs ‘19 LSU offense is the dream matchup

2019 LSu would handily beat either of those teams if htey played head to head, it's simply a different game now. That doesn't really factor into the topic though, IMO. Take any UGA team under kiry smart aside from year 1 and they would beat any national champion from like 1975 and earlier. By a lot. It's just different.

You guys can have the pathetic little quibble comparing them to lsu 19’. I’m don’t think Miami is the GOAT.

Top 15 tho? Lmao. That team was stacked & handled everyone in front of them with ease.

As well as good wins. It’s called looking at the season

Miami did not have an impressive 2001 season compared to 2019 lsu. Not even in the same stratosphere

Is that what you say when your team doesn't have a seat at the GOAT CFB team discussion?

One team held the ball under a minute inside the Miami red zone with a chance to take the lead

Another team held the ball under 2 minutes with a chance to take the lead

But they didn't, that's the point you cant' seem to grasp.

A 7-5 team was 9 yards away from beating them but you're pounding your chest about how they beat EVERYONE WITH EASE, and you're wrong.

Inside the 10 with less than 20 seconds to go, to be more exact.

WITH EASE!!!

Also, which side of the field does Ed Reed blanket? The side with Chase, the side with Marshall, or the middle with Jefferson, Moss, and CEH? No one in the history of college football, save for the 2010-2011 LSU and Bama teams, have the talent in the defensive backfield to cover all of LSU's offensive weapons. Jefferson and Chase have torched the best defensive backs in the NFL on a weekly basis for 2 years. No one has slowed them down. I mean a guy who is considered a top 5 CB in the NFL today had to literally be moved to LSU's 3rd WR in the national title because he was being abused so badly. The guy who led the NFL in interceptions this past year was burned for 140 yards.

The best safety of all time wouldn't slow down the passing attack LSU had that year. Especialliy a team from 2001, whose linebacker room is constructed to be hard-nosed and stop the run. Johnathon Vilma would be neutralized by LSU's offensive play style. They'd attack the middle all day long until Ed Reed adjusted and covered the middle, then they'd free up Chase and Marshall down the side line.

The best take so far from a low level strategic game standpoint with zero acknowledgement.

Anyway, seasons better than 2001 Miami right off the top of my head

2019 lsu
2020 Bama
2018 Clemson
1995 Nebraska
2009 Bama
1956 Oklahoma
2005 Texas
1979 Bama
1972 USC
1971 Nebraska
2013 FSU

So that’s 11 I can confidently put ahead of Miami without sling any research. Hence, why I think their season would be around the 15 mark. And that’s honestly being generous. Having #8 as your best win is just extremely meh

Just be thankful that the 2020 BAMA team didn't decide to put a 100 on you.
