Yeah, Bird could hardly even play at that point. He was always on the sideline laying down on the floor because of his back trouble.

Magic had 48 points in the whole tournament. Christian Laetner who barely played, had 38.

Bringing the stats.

And this is why all of these old guys who are reminiscing have such skewed opinions. They imagine every old player in their absolute prime.

It'd be pretty intense. Interestingly enough, I'd still take the '92 dream team.

People are forgetting the stats some of those '92 guys were putting up that year (or the year previous in Magic's case and the year after for Laettner's)

PGs
Johnson: 19.4/7.0/12.5
Stockton: 15.8/3.3/13.7

SGs
Jordan: 30.1/6.4/6.1
Drexler: 25.0/6.6/6.7

SFs
Pippen: 21.0/7.7/7.0
Bird: 20.2/9.6/6.8
Mullin: 25.6/5.6/3.5

PFs
Malone: 28.0/11.2/3.0
Barkley: 23.1/11.1/4.1
Laettner: 18.2/8.7/2.8

Cs
Ewing: 24.0/11.2/1.9
Robinson: 23.2/12.2/2.7

Thats just PPG/RPG/APG. Both Ewing and Robinson had drtgs of 98 and 94 respectively to go along with 3.0 and 4.5 BPG each.

90s Centers > current Centers
- better defensively and offensively

90s SGs > current SGs
- Jordan and Drexler in their prime > Harden/Klay

90s PFs > current PFs
- Malone/Barkley are a lot grittier and stronger down low than AD. Cousins is more of a center, but its not like Love/Griffin/Aldridge are much better options. Ibaka, just no.

offensively, the current PGs are a lot faster and more athletic. I think the PGs of the 90s were craftier with running offenses and sharing the ball unless we're talking CP3. Westbrook would implode this team though imo...those centers are mean down low.

SFs I'd give the advantage to the current era's since Durant/LeBron are more-so in their prime vs. Pippen/Bird (last year in the league)

Do you remember those Olympics? None of those games were even close. How old are you?

Dream team didn't call a timeout the whole Olympics. They won by average 43 ppg.

And you're going to sit here and pretend Magic's low ppg makes him washed up.

Yall keep saying is older folks are biased, but yall don't even remember that time period. Little diaper babies

I don't think you get how improved the rest of the world has gotten since the 92 Olympics. There were maybe 4 decent foreigners in the entire 92 Olympics. Now there are probably around 30.

Magic was retired. You can call us dumb all you want, but he was absolutely washed up during the 92 Olympics.

this is why people can't argue with guys like you.

The size differential 2015 bigs give up to 92 bigs is about as equivalent to the athleticism difference 92 gives up.

You can't just cherry pick and say "15 bigs don't have the bulk" and then scoff at the notion that a guy like AD is more athletic than 92 bigs.

Also speaking of size- Barkley was what 6'6?

Lololol I hope that's your argument. International basketball was garbage in the 90s. You could probably take a good college team to the Olympics from the USA and win gold

That's what they used to do. The U.S. used to send college kids to the Olympics and win gold against professionals from other countries.

Now, no way college kids could beat a team like Spain.

That's not the point. I was responding to the guy that said Magic had 48 points in the whole Olympics.

They played 8 games, they were all blowouts. He wasn't playing full games.

he was 32, and coming off a season in the NBA where he led his team to the NBA finals. A season where he averaged 19/12/7. Can you name the last NBA player to reach that stat line over a season? Washed up? are you serious?

Barkley played in the golden age of big men. And he fricking dominated.

i love anthony davis but he gets routinely pushed around by bigger post players. Malone, Barkley, Admiral, etc would enjoy playing against him.

your center is freaking Demacus Cousins. Lol, enough said. Look at some of the GIF's of him playing defense. It's laughable.

What about Marc Gasol?

Or do you just want to cherry pick again, because I can do that too.

Look up magics defense and tell me how he'd fare in his 92 self against Russ

Well I disagree with you here. At the very least, you have to admit I know how to properly use grammar and punctuation to form a legitimate sentence.

you're putting a Spaniard on your American team, and I'm cherry picking? How desperate are you for a Center?

can we put Shaq on the Dream team like he should have been? What about Isaiah Thomas?
